Well, apparently, if one's Registry isn't conveniently accessible

Well, apparently, if one's Registry isn't conveniently accessible

Nothing or very little will be purchased from it. Donna has three Registries, and the local stores are having gifts taken off. Donna is disappointed no one has bought her everyday dishes at the far away store. Have any of you experienced this? And with almost no days left to shop, it leads me to wonder, do folks really wait that long, like a day before to shop? Mary MOB

Hi, Gail !!! Thanks, hon. I hope things start coming off her BBB Registry, which is kinda far for us to go to. We are getting a BBB, here in Lancaster, but not in time to benefit Donna. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but it would be exciting to see that someone bought her the dishes she wants so badly. Had I realized she wanted them so much, I would have gotten them. Mary MOB

I usually wait until the night before or even that morning. I am a procrastinator (clearly) but there are other people out there like me!! I am sure someone will buy them.. especially if the other registries don't have anything left

Re: Well, apparently, if one's Registry isn't conveniently accessible

I am not really supposed to know about my 'surprise' shower...but it's this weekend. Some people are just really obvious while others can't keep a secret.

My registries look barely touched. My fiance told me there will be at least 45-50 people at my shower, so to me it looks like maybe 15-20 (tops) people have shopped on my registry.

We only have about 4 bowls and 4 dinner plates purchased as well as 2 mugs. We registered for a very reasonably priced everyday pattern that can be found pretty much anywhere.I am really nervous that my fiance and I are going to have to buy the rest of our everyday china.

My question is, not only do people wait until the last day to buy stuff?.....but will they get something at another or store or the same store and forget to tell them to take it off the registry?? I'm freaking out!!!

P.S- I swear I'm not greedy, it's just that I've been to so many showers on both sides of our family and know what those girls registries looked like and how much stuff they got at the shower.

Sorry for the looooong response

That happened to me... I registered at BBB and Bloomingdales and nobody except my mom and one coworker (that didnt even show) bought me anything off my bloomies registry (it must not be acessible in LI because nobody went there) and the items on there werent ridid priced either.. it was pretty normal stuff.

edt to add: that becaue of that we didnt get our fine flatware, so I found a website that has them cheaper so we are going to get them after the wedding

We live in an online world now...what's the big deal for people to order stuff from there and have it shipped?!!

So aggravating!!!!

Yeah this really is a crappy time to be getting married. I remember back a few years ago when my brother got married, and people went crazy buying gifts and were really excited. Now it seems like everyone is struggling and it's like a pain to be invited to these events.

Yeah I guess so...it just stinks. I can't help but feel like people don't care, and it kind of stings. I don't really think that's the case, but geez I thought me waiting until 2 or 3 weeks before the event to buy a gift was LAST MINUTE!

I was WAY OFF

I had some people buy off my registry - but none of my dishes, silverware were bought. I ended up with a couple of gift cards to use. Talk about procrastination, one of my BM's went online the day of the shower and bought it online and gave me a card saying it was in the mail.

People do wait until the last minute to shop...I am personally guilty of this! It also takes about a day for things to come off the registry once purchased.

I got all my kitchen appliences and 2 bed sets bought the night before,so I think there is still time, not only that but it didn;t get updated till the next day, the day of the shower. My MOH was stalking it and thought I wasn't getting any gifts

Me too, not only did some BM buy the night before, but some also bought that morning at the store and one online, but they did make up for it, b/c they bought in bundles.
