Well, I back from a visit with L/D

Well, I decided to call my Dr about the possibility of having a slow amniotic leak and he told me to go get checked out. So, we got everything ready because I was pretty sure that I had a very slow leak, judging from the flow ( is that a good description?! )

Well, I got there and they hooked me up to the monitors and put me in the system with all of the questions (abuse and all that.) They did the tests for pH and ferning and both came back negative. So I got to come home. Since my Dr doesn't do internals, I did get one today and was told the baby still is kind of high up (after just being told Monday that the baby dropped.) Just not as far long as I thought I would be. Apparently I am imagining all of the BH's being productive.

Hang in there! Baby will be here before you know it!! Just let yourself relax a little and enjoy the quiet time while you can!!

You'll get there Nancy! Dont start counting the days now, or it will REALLY drag

Take the next 2 weeks and keep your mind occupied with other things (yeah right, easy to say Anna ) I feel like since I stopped working at the gym 2 weeks ago, it made these passed 2 weeks DRAGGG. sometimes its easier when youre keeping busy and not thinking about it as much..(again, i know easier said than done )

Hugs to you, and continue to enjoy the sleep for the next 2 weeks at least.

It is a good thing you went to get checked since you need to deliver (in a day or so) if your water has broken. Do not let this get you down. You can still have this baby at anytime even though the baby is high. Try not to count the days as Anna said. Keep as busy as possible so your mind stays off every possible BH vs. real contraction.

Oh, I am definitely busy!! I am still working and this happens to be our busy season so I should be putting in overtime in the next couple of weeks. People think I am crazy working right up until the day, but I know that I would go crazy if I didn't!

I think I just got so excited, that it was slightly dissappointing. Specially seeing all the newborns yesterday...it does something to your 9th month hormones!

EVery timeI feel a strong contraction, it gets more REAL !

Definately work as late as you can, this way you'll be saving every day off to have time with the baby.

My cousin left work 2wks before her due date, she was almost 2wks late, so she felt she wasted A MONTH of her maternity leave, sitting around the house, answering the same redundant phone calls and 'waiting around'...

*Exactly* how I feel! I would be so afraid that 4 wks of my 12 wks would go towards waiting!! Besides, we could use the money!

It's hard being the first baby, my husband and I are just so darn excited!

this is the one thing I was grateful for in not going full term. I dont think I could have ever made it through that last month! Not to mention that being induced took the 'guesswork' out of the whole thing.

Try to stay patient! Just because YOU are ready doesnt mean your peanut agrees!!!
