looking for a job stinks!!! but, i dont think that means you werent given a chance... i know the hiring committee at our school works really quickly... they know later that afternoon who they are calling back... so maybe they just made the decision quickly...

some companies really suck, I went on 3 interviews for a job and the first 2 went great after the 3rd with the big boss he said he would speak to the HR manager on Monday(my interview with him was on Sat) so I waited until Wednesday and emailed her to touch base and she said she did not speak to the guy yet and would et back to me and then that friday I get a letter in the mail dated the monday after the interview saying they couldnt place me, looking back the whole thing was shady but I feel your pain

Hang in there... . I got several calls in August for last minute openings. Also, have you considered teaching in NYC? there are some wonderful schools in NYC... I had a great experience at my former school in the city.... many schools on LI wait until you have some teaching experience beyond a TA because they can afford to hire people on a higher step. feel free to FM... i've so been there and now I am in my dream district. it will happen for you!

Well I do have experience...I taught in NYC for a year and a half and hated it...I left and when I couldn't find a job I accepted a job as a TA,,,I thought it would be a way into a district

Usually that means that they filled the postion before they even started interviewing, but they have to interview as per the law...to give everyone a fair shot..even though its not to fair. It totally S U C K S!!!!! But, something will come along. Just keep your head up!
