Well I made myself look like a DUMMY!!

Just thought I'd share this with you ladies:

I called Skyline Orchestras (I'm using their band Rhapsody) to go over my contract... I am trying to get all of this $$ in order, so I know exactly how poor I will be about a month before the wedding... ANYWAY... I noticed that there was NO tax on the contract, so I called them... He told me that it is a NYS law that there is NO tax on Entertainment... Did everyone know that??? Because I certaintly did not and felt like a total jerk! Just thought I'd share! And if you didn't know that, well, it's a little bit of new info for ya!

You dont look dumb... I didnt know that!!! Thats something great to know. Im going to check my contract now!!!

You have a good eye for catching something missing like that!!

Thanks, I was not aware of that... I will keep that in mind when it comes time to book our DJ.

Whew!! Glad I don't look silly!!! Now I am using a band... he said entertainment, so I'm assuming, that's ALL entertainment, but could be LIVE, not sure... Definatly check it out though!

You're not a dummy!! I did the same thing when I started looking for bands. I would get prices and say is that with or without tax? And the first guy actually just said without tax. The second guy was nice enough to explain to me the NYS law on bands being a service and that there is no tax charged.

I didn't know either until our DJ told us when we booked him. So you're not alone
