Well, I should be landing in Tahiti right now BUT I'm still in NY

DH & I left our hotel at 5am this morning anxious to go on our wonderful HM to Tahiti.
Well, when we get to the airport, he couldn't check in with his passport. He has a valid US passport that is to expire in 1 month. Turns out the laws for tahiti are that you can only travel if your passport's expiration date is 3 months or more of the departure date. We had no clue that this could happen.

We went to our TA as soon as they opened at 10 am and we were pissed that we weren't told this info.
We have to wait until tomorrow morning for our TA to try to re-book our HM & even if flights are still available, the wonderful resorts that we had originally booked may not be available.

I just wanted any future couples that are going to Tahiti to be aware of our situation because It's a horrible feeling being told that no, you cannot go on your HM!

So now I need your help please..
We were staying at the Morea Pearl in a pool bungalow ...... are there any other resorts that have pool bungalows in morea?

We were also staying at the IC Thalasso in Bora Bora in an OWB. ..... any other hotel recomendations? I think bora bora pearl may be booked.

I am so sorry about the mishap. That's a terrible way to start off your vacation.

Isn't it why we use travel agents...to be informed of all the important details.

CONGRATS on your marriage but SO SORRY to hear about the passport problem!

Moorea:
If Pearl is booked...
1st choice Sheraton
2nd Choice Intercontinental

Bora Bora:
If Thalasso is all booked up...
1st Choice - Nui
2nd Choice - Bora Bora Lagoon
3rd Choice - Pearl
4th Choice - Intercontinental Le Moana
Hotel Bora Bora is also great...

Oh my gosh! You must be so disappointed!!!
Our agent told us that passports have to be good for six months beyond your return date. I'm so sorry to hear about your delay! We are staying at the Sheraton in Moorea in November. We are also booked at the Thalasso in Bora Bora but we almost booked the Bora Bora Nui because it looks really nice and our agent said there were great sunsets and snorkeling. Good luck!

thanks everyone- well, our TA was able to re-book us & we leave on Wednesday. We were were able to keep a reservation for an emerald OWB at the IC thalasso in Bora Bora.
We lost our pool bungalow in Moorea which I am a little sad about. I was looking forward to having our own pool but we were upgraded to the premium OWB in moorea. So, it's been worked out. Yey, I leave tomorrow!
