Normally I would be thrilled. I am kind of relieved that it's one more thing off the list. Here's the thing---
The DJ we are using does the Christmas parties for my dad's company every year and he's awesome. FH loves them and I figured because of the relationship we already have with them--we'd get a great deal. No such luck. He was doing the ceremony, cocktail hour, and 5 hour reception for 2400, including give away $hit that I could care less about but my mom likes them so whatever. Well that was all fine and great--then my WONDERFUL FH tells him not to sell himself short and not to throw too much stuff in for free (give aways, extra hour, ceremony) I wanted to KILL HIM. So the guy re-evaluates and comes up with 3000 He threw in percussionists and some kind of crazy light things that they can match to the colors of your wedding. FH really wanted them so I signed the contract and we had to pay 1/3 of it as a deposit!!!

WOW...sometimes it's ok to kick FH under the table!!!!! 1/3 isn't that bad to put down...it's a lot yes, but we had to put half down...so look on the brightside...You got a DJ you know is great...and tons of extras. If you don't mind me asking who did you go with? You can tell me to shutup if I'm being nosy!!!

That seems REALLY high for a DJ? I don't know, but we booked a band with a DJ and it was only $4800 (granted we kind of got a deal also).....but at least your FH is happy!

now is one of those times.
What I would do is tell FH that he has to pay the differencde out of his pocket...or make him pay the entire 3k. It was not cool what he did!

With a percussionist, thats actually a really awsm deal. For the custom lighting, montage, screens with pics, percussionist and dj for 6 hrs is virtually double that. I know it ***** cause you're broke, but u actually did get a good deal.

it sounds like a lot, but if you LOVE them then it's worth it. if you think it's too $$$$ then save money elsewhere, like on flowers or video etc.

The DJ is Dream Entertainment. They are really fun and always keep the party going. FH is paying for the whole thing--that is why I agreed to it.

Thanks! He is my baby Hes not that small anymore he is a year old now- he was only 8 weeks old then. Still cute as ever though!

No- The lights weren't part of it. He threw them in. They sound cool- hopefully they're worth it. I don't even know what percussionists do, or if they are worth it, but he said they go on tour and play with gloria estefan so hopefully they'll be good!

OMG I would have been so pi$$ed at FH. $2400 seems like plenty of $$ for a dj's services, giveaways included! Maybe talk to FH and have HIM call DJ and see if he can re-evaluate your package
