Renovations!! So stressful. I don't ever want to go through this again. We have had some problems this time around and the downstairs bathroom is only partially done. We may have to rip it out again because there is something wrong with the tub. We are waiting for a manufacturer's rep to come next week and look at it. Argggggggghhhhhh.
If they have to rip it out again I am going to a hotel til they are done!

Besides that everything is good. How is married life treating you??? I loved your pics. You looked so happy!

Medical stuff is good. Blood work has been coming back good and I can do more every day. Today was staining woodwork in our new guest room. I'm sore tonight though.

Once all this home improvement nonsense is finished my next project is finding a new job. I am trying to figure out what I want to do. I got some good recommendations for a book for career changers and I am also considering finding a career counselor to help me out with this. I wish I knew what I wanted to be when I grow up!!!

Awwwww. It stinks that you don't get to spend more time with Frankie especially since school starts again so soon. I cannot believe how fast the summer has gone. Before you know it you will celebrating your one month anniversary!!

I wish that you were feeling better. It's good that you are going to a specialist though. Hopefully they will be able to get this under control for you and soon!

As for the bathroom, what a tale of woe! They came to start the work and the dumpster didn't come so they had to leave. Then they had problems ripping out the outside wall because of the way the house had been built. We knew the wall was going to have to be ripped because of water damage from the upstairs bath, but because that part of the house was built in 1990 and this part was built in 1954 the way it was built was different. They literally had to take a saw to the back of my house ! Took way longer than it should have too. Anyway after all the tilework was done and toilet, sink and new tub put in, I cleaned the tub and discovered rust spots!!!! The tub is cast iron and it is not supposed to rust. I showed the contractor who called his distributor, who called the manufacturer Kohler and they want one of their reps to see it before anything is done. But the rep can't come til next week, so here I sit not knowing if they are going to have to rip the tub out (which they probably will). The contractor doesn't want to have to do that because Kohler will replace the tub, but won't pay for the labor and materials involved. I don't want them to rip it out because the tile job was fantastic and I am afraid if they take out the tub and put it back they will never get the lower tiles back and looking the same. At the same time I don't want a defective tub. So we will see what they say. I might end up having to fight with Kohler so that my contractor doesn't get screwed. It's not his fault that Kohler's tub is defective. So the bathroom just sits unfinished til this is resolved.

Just makes you want to run out and buy a house doesn't it???

I haven't been on much lately, and am running to bed in a few minutes. But just saw this thread and wanted to say Hey!

I understand about not seeing your DH Jamie. It just plain s*cks!!! I haven't seen Kevin since August 10! Can you imagine!!!!! He has a horrible and contagious eye infection. So he's staying away.

I also hear you Wendy about the renovations! I'm STILL waiting for DH to finish on the house so I can move in already!! Sometimes I don't think it will ever be ready.

Hi Karen. 10 days??? That is a long time to be apart. You must really miss him. Hopefully he will be non-contagious soon.

I told Gene the next time I even suggest home improvements he needs to remind me of this mess. That should stop me cold!!

Merrie I am good thanks and very glad to hear your terrific news. . No not an apartment although I may be looking for one before this is all over...j/k. We remodeled our main bathroom and finished our attic to be a home office/guest room. Sorry.

I forgot the most important thing though and this is happy. I now have a great big walk in closet with a closet system built just for me!! . Although we have a huge bedroom we only have one small closet which is Gene's. My stuff has been stuffed in the closet in my son's room. I was promised a closet in the guest room and told I could have 'Whatever I wanted' by my loving husband. So when the contractor asked me how big I wanted it, I asked how big he could make it. It's pretty big!!!! It's a 9x6 closet with racks and shelves and I cannot wait to put all my stuff in it!!!

I was worried after they framed it out and I saw how big it was that Gene would say too big, but he had no problem with it. I already told him that it's all mine and he can't put any of his junk in there...
. I know him and I could see the wheels in his head turning saying'Ahhhhh more room for my pack rat stuff'. I told him I was going to put a lock on it and not give him a key!!!!
