WE have this harp player - Joanna Newsom - coming to perform in April. She's got sort of a folk-y thing going on and she's really young (like 22) and she's selling a ton of tickets!

Well, last night I brought her CD home and listened to it. First of all, she sounds like she's ancient!!! But the best description I could come up with was a cross between Bjork and Phyllis Diller on Valium.

ANYWAY, the song on the CD is called THE SPROUT AND THE BEAN!!!!!!!!!!

It's total nonsense, but made me think of all of you!

My god!! Is it possible this is the same person I saw a review of in the Daily News that said 'SNARKY'?????

Wait...Beanpole Harmonica is snarky or did she review something and call it snarky?

Well Time Out London says that she's been described as 'An Appalachain Bjork' 'the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard' and 'the sound of Lisa Simpson having an ******.'

Apparently she's the next big thing...but listening to her makes my ears bleed!!!!

She is, by the way, American.
