Wendy...how was your trip?

The trip was a welcome distraction ...

WDW was unbelievably crowded but luckily since we go so often, we are just annoyed as opposed to 'missing out' on anything.

We got to ride Soarin' (they did soft openings) but it's exactly the same as in CA which we did on the HM.

Weather was fantastic.

We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a change and got to see a lot of animals (which is what most of the pictures are of) and did a special 'Sunrise Safari' on our anniversary. We had dinner at the Chef's Table at Victoria & Albert's for our anniversary dinner (another thing we did on our HM but it's really a great experience).

The day we were leaving we hit the MK in the morning and saw Darius Rucker (from Hootie - I'm a huge fan) with his wife & kids being escorted by a VIP castmember ... I waved at his wife as they jumped the line for Peter Pan's Flight.


Again, all in all a good distraction although I started crying on the plane as we were landing and for some reason today has been a hard day

Hootie and the Blowfish were playing at CityWalk at Universal last weekend, I kept hoping I'd run into Darrius somewhere in Disney or Universal

And I was shocked that Soarin' was opened too.. they kept saying May 2005 and I technically was there in April.. I had done it at California Adventure, but DH hadn't and I so wanted him to try it. I thought the ride was just great (though the wait was horrendous, but we used FastPass)

Yep, we went to Universal and I saw on the schedule that they were going to be playing either last Saturday or Sunday (April 30th or May 1st).. we left on Friday April 29th so we wouldn't have seen them anyhow

How I'd love to be a celebrity and get to jump the lines, huh? We couldn't even get NEAR Peter Pan or most of the rides in the MK .. and I just LOVE Peter Pan

We liked it and since we always rent a car, it wasn't such a big deal that it's sorta out of the way but I think we still prefer the Wilderness Lodge although it was cool having the animals around.
