Went BM dress shopping... w/ pics
Okay soooo... I went BM dress shopping in the city today with 1 MOH (I have 2) and my two BM's. We went to Bella Bridesmaid, because I LOVE Anna Elyse dresses and they're the only place around here that carries them. We tried on those dresses, as well as Amsale in the jersey fabric (sooo comfortable but concerned about it showing 'imperfections' since the fabric is so thin - the girls concern, not mine - i want them to be comfortable).
The first pic is the Amsale collection. Sorry for the cut off heads. it's the same dress, with different style necklines, which is what I'm going for so everyone can be confident in their particular gown (some don't like strapless, etc.). As long as they're all the same color, I don't care. The color I LOVE (it's the color i've envisioned in my head since i got engaged) is the one all the way on the left. It looks lighter in the picture than it is in person - maybe it was the flash on my camera. No one liked the neckline of the one that i'm wearing (I'm all the way on the right, headless), except me.
The second pic is the color I love, up close, so elegantly worn by my headless best friend. No one really liked that neckline style either.
The third pic is the Anna Elyse 'Grace' ball gown. It's my favorite neckline that they offer, but I think the girls would want the A-line style instead of the ball gown (my headless sister in the pic thinks it's 'too much material' - it has a train and pleats). That's not the color i would want, I'd match it to something like the Amsale dress. The designer will match a color as close as she can if she doesn't have what you want). ALSO - I don't like the fabric thats shown. I'd go with the taffeta (yes, it's very nice taffeta) but they didn't have it in the store. The fabric in the pic is silk dupioni (sp.?).
The fourth pic - same dress, close up of neckline.
the fifth pic - another one of Anna Elyse neckline options, again modeled by my headless sister. It's the A-line gown, but short, and still in the silk dupioni, which I think is just too heavy (ok, they think it's too heavy - I didn't actually put it on)
Soooo.... overall a lovely experience, just wanted to share it with all of you. Bella Bridesmaid was great - so accomodating - they're not even open on sundays but the girl was nice enough to open up for us to come in.
Feel free to comment - I am not easily offended and love honesty more than anything in the world - seriously!!!
