went dress shopping on sat!!!!
what a great day! I had soooo much fun, can't wait to do it again!
I started out at BR in Massapequa and had Susan as my consultant. She is amazing, soooo sweet - I loved her. She reminded me of my friend's mom and I felt so comfortable with her. I told her a few things that I liked, showed her 2 dresses that I printed out and she went off looking for dresses. She came back and had pulled some really amazing gowns. I feel like I didn't even tell her that much but she just understood what I was looking for and I loved everything she picked.
Then we went to Lillette's. I know I've read a few times about how amazing Gerri is and to recommend her when you make your appt. Of course, I forgot to request her when I made my appt, but luckily, she was my consultant. Wow, she has the patience of a saint, I must have tried on a million dresses and I was there for over 3 hours. She never made me feel rushed, she just said 'ok which gown do you want to try next?' I was shocked that she wasn't kicking me out of the store lol. I can't believe how great she was!
On to the dresses.....so now here's the hard part. I thought I knew what I wanted. I'm the type that's been dreaming of my wedding dress forever. I always dreamed of a gorgeous satin ball gown, with some detail, not over the top, with a dramatic train, and silk covered buttons. Recently, I started loving trumpet-style dresses, but figured they wouldn't flatter my body type since I carry all my weight in my stomach. When I tried them on, however, I thought I looked pretty good (if I do say so myself
) and I liked how the dresses showed off my shape more than a ballgown (esp if I end up losing the weight that I want to, I kinda want to flaunt it lol).
Since this style is not what I always pictured myself in, I'm having a really hard time with this new image...the 2 styles are totally different and I just don't know which direction to go in...go with what I always pictured or with the style I loved in person? Either way, I don't think I found 'the one' but I just don't know what direction to go in the next time I shop....
unfortunately no pix, boo ... i really wish they'd change that rule! Its so hard to remember what they looked like on my body
