Went dress shopping today
at Lillette's and I wanted to say thank you to everyone who recommended them. I managed to get Gerry as a consultant and I couldn't have been happier! I was totally not looking forward to dress shopping, as I have put on weight in the last couple of years, and I have been trying very unsuccessfully to lose weight for the last 8 months. I had given up on finding anything I would like, that wasn't frumpy, or that didn't look like it was trying to hide everything.
Well Gerry was amazing, all I told her was I was open to anything and liked sparkly dresses.She just kept pulling dresses that she 'saw me in'. I must have tried on over 10 dresses, but the first two I LOVED!!! I have been ripping dress ideas out of magazines forever and almost all of them were similar in style to thise two dresses ( I didn't bring any pictures with me). She's amazing!
I got a little overwhelmed with everything at the end and she was perfectly ok with me making an appointment to come back next Saturday, hopefully with a decision, no pressure at all, which is what I needed.
So thanks again to everyone who recommended Lillette's and Gerry! And thanks to everyone who answered my questions about Lillette's.
As a side note, my mom's best friend lives 5 minutes away and stopped in. Turns out both her and her sister got her dress from Lillettes over 30 years ago! Small world.
