Went for 1st fitting---veil problem

So I went for my first fitting this weekend and the seamstress goes to get my veil and when it comes out I am completely shocked because it looks white and my dress is ivory. I bought my dress during a trunk show from the designer's sales rep. The veil that she had with her was the same veil that I had ordered...however when I saw my veil the other day it clearly was not the same color. The saleperson from the bridal shop who originally helped me when I bought the dress no longer works there, so I had one of the other women help me and she told me that the sales rep probably had an old veil that was oxidized and discolored, making it look more yellow. She even compared a white veil to mine and it was different, but definitely nothing compared to the one I originally saw. What should I do? Just live with the veil (I got it for free) or do you think I should call the bridal shop again and see if they can order me another one because I am not convinced that the story about the 'oxidized' veil is true.

hmmmmmmmmmmm, her story doesn't make sense to me.......but you never know. But, if I were you, no matter if it was free or not, I would get them to get you a new one. If you are worrying about it now, then you'll worry about it on your wedding day, and you don't want that

IMO, free or not free it should be what you want. I would 100% go back and have them order you one that matches the color Ivory and if they can not, I would take a swatch of your dress and go some where else for the veil.

If it was true about the reason the color was more yellow, that should have been told to you.

Did you put the veil up against your dress or another ivory dress? My friend had the same problem. When her veil came in we swore up and down that it was white and we brought it back to the shop. They showed us a white veil and they looked a little different. But when she put it against her gown it definitely looked ivory and went perfectly with her dress.

Try looking at it against your dress and if you still don't like it, get a new one.
