Went for my fitting today and.... (long vent)

It was the worse experience!!!

First I went for my hair trial I took a picture Ill post when I download it. The trial went ok then I went for my fitting.

Got to the dressing room and was excited to see my dress..

I put it on and guess what... IT DOESNT FIT!! Its to small!!! They told me I gained 3 inches in my bust and stomach and thats why it doesnt fit me. It doesnt close! I lost it! I started to cry!!!! I was hysterical. They said they are going to try and open the dress or get a piece of material for it (which will cost me more) This is so nuts!! They ordered me a size 4 in February I guess with no le-way at all... Im so upset and worried that there going to ruin my dress!!! I have to go back next Saturday to see it with the new pieces...

Then I looked at my hair in the mirror and all the curls were out and it was a mess! I was upset, because it means my hair wont stay the whole day of the wedding... Luckly I was going back to my hair dresser because my sister was getting her hair cut.. my hair dresser felt bad she said to come back and we will try it all up...


What a bad day!!! for me

Plus FH and I had a huge fight before I went into my fitting over something FMIL said to him about something that happened last night at the menu/tasting!

Sorry to hear about all this. Don't worry about the dress, this happens all the time. I don't think I believe you gained that as they said, but bridal shops tend to push blame on anyone. But believe me, they can add & you will not notice it. And a size 4, you must have an awesome figure to get that size in a bridal gown. But seriously, don't stress, I know it's an emotional time & these shops don't make it any easier.

As far as the hair, look at the weather!! That could have contributed to the problem. But either way, that is why we do trials. It will all be great...relax, take a deep breath & have a glass of wine!!! Good luck....

I had the exact same experience as you at my dress fitting. They ordered me a size four and I am petite but busty. They told me I gained 3 inches in my chest as well and I ordered my dress in March, not possible to gain that much especially in my chest. Don't worry just yet...they were able to let out my dress....and I am sure that they will be able to let out your dress as well.

OH NO I AM SO SORRY, INDEED GO GET A GLASS OF WINE, A MARGARITA, BEER SOMETHING TO RELAX. IT WILL WORK OUT ITS HARD TO BELIEVE YOU GAINED THAT MUCH I BET THEY ARE WRONG I AM SURE IT WILL WORK OUT..

It is amazing how stresses just snowball... The reason we have hair trials is specificially to see the faults. Better to find out now then that day.... I wore mine to woodbury commons for the entire day just to make sure it would stay.
As for the dresses, mine was ok, but ALL of my girls need major alterations, my sister they 1st ordered a size 0 and called last minute to change it to a 2. Which she was more comfortable with. Go to pick up the dress and it is still the 0... which fit but was alittle tight.
Just remember that it will work out

so sorry to hear that. if the dress doen'st fit u have some time to loose a few pounds and inches. Don't worry everything will be fine.

Hi - this happened to me too, but I was smaller than when the store originally measured me and the dress still did not fit so with less than one month to my wedding they got me a new dress and did not charge me for it. In addition, during alterations they created a snag in the dress and with 12 days to my wedding they got me another one and did not charge me for it. So it can be done, talk to the salon and ask them what they can do. I am sure that salons deal with dresses that do not fit brides all the time. Good luck.

don't worry. they will fit the dress to you perfectly!

as for the hair, if you have long & thick hair, you need to ask the hair dresser to use steam rollers instead of a curling iron. your hair will stay curled all night.

Sounds to me like the bridal shop messed up (which is a usual occurance) and they are placing the blame on you. I am sure everything will work out.

Im slowly getting over it but still upset. I go back on Saturday we will see what happens then.
