I called my Doc yesterday around lunchtime because I was feeling all shaky and weak (like when you wait too long to eat and your blood sugar is low), my hands and feet swelled, and it didn't go away even after eating and drinking lots of water (I chug water all day).
I really expected him to just tell me chill and watch for signs of something else so I was surprised when he told me to go to Labor & Delivery right away. So I went to Good Sam and they monitored the baby's heartrate, contractions (didn't have any), did some blood work and put me on an IV.
They monitored for about an hour or so and my blood work came back fine so I was sent home as expected. By the time I got to hospital I was feeling much better anyway. So everything is fine and I have to call my Doc again today but only thing is that the second I got home -- it happened again! I thought that was REALLY weird especially since I had JUST gotten an IV! Of course I'm going to tell my doc when I speak with him today but I'm wondering has anything like this happened to anyone else?

when i got stressed...i would experience dizziness...my dr. didn't take it lightly either...which is a good thing...you don't want a wait and see dr...trust me

Did you have your glucose test yet? It almost sound like a reaction a diabetic would have. I hope everything is ok!

I have low blood sugar, and that's what happens to me when I go too long without eating and get stressed out. My dad is a diabetic, and the same for him if his insulin gets out of whack. My first thought is maybe you're experiencing gestational diabetes? It's not that serious and can be controlled very easily through diet.. have you had the glucose test yet?

That's the thing, I did have my glucose test and everything came back really good. The Dr. did say it was a little on the low side though but I always thought when it comes to GD it's better to be on the low side than to have high blood sugar, no?

I hope you are feeling better. I would take it easy for a few days and see what happens. Also call the doctor and see what they tell you to do. It could have something to do with the warm weather but i wouldn't chance it. Relax for a while and see if they want you to go through some more blood work. Best of luck and keep us posted.

Just check with your doc. Its probably just one of the stresses of being pregnant.
yesterday was pretty hot and muggy. Maybe that contributed to it.

Something like that happened to me...and I almost passed out. I passed my glucose test and was also sent to the hospital...to do all those checks except for the IV. My doctor said that the extra weight and heat could have done it to me...
Maybe that's what happened to you? I don't think we're used to this amount of weight.

Sandra sweetie, I am glad you are feeling better and that they monitored you.. at least you know everything with mommy and baby are ok
Please be sure to call your doctor again if it keeps happening... try to take it easy and most importantly FEEL BETTER !!

Thanks everyone!! I am definitely feeling better today. It must've had something to do with the heat yesterday - and I think you are right, Stefanie - it sounds like you had the same thing! I'm sure the extra weight isn't helping!
