Went to a Fox Hollow Wedding Last Night

Went to a Fox Hollow Wedding Last Night

CH was outside, cute set up, not a lot of CH food though.
Reception was in garden room i think? has a very long dance floor. Room looked beautiful, very pretty lighting. Staff was nice and on top of things. Food was very good, had a mini viennesse which was nice.
Tables i found to be a lil cramped though, they were the oblong size tables which im not a fan of because its hard to talk to the whole table, i prefer round (encourages conversation)

overall was very nice wedding and beautiful set up. Good luck to the Fox Hollow brides!

I'm all surprised that you say there wasn't a lot of food at the CH. I'm having my wedding there, and the last one I went to there, with the old menu that had less on it, had tonnnnssss of food.

Re: Went to a Fox Hollow Wedding Last Night

the choices we had for dinner were plentiful...i think we had about 6 choices.

the cocktail hour was a table set up with cheeses and antipasta type stuff....they had a small table with shrimp cocktail and one table that looked like it had 1 kind of pasta and maybe one more hot food. few passed around things (rice balls, shrimp on a stick)

is the CH standard or do you choose how much you want?

I guess you can choose because that is not the typical CH.

was it in the garden terrace room? that room looks pretty but I have never been in there for an event.

I was curious how their outside cocktail hours are. Sounds like it was nice! Im surprised they didn't have a lot of cocktail hour food- we had soooooooooooooooooooooo much and I didn't do any add ons. Maybe they cut down the menu thinking it was too much perhaps?

ETA: I forgot I had an older menu. Maybe that made a difference? I booked in spring of 06.

I am surprised too. We just booked this past January for a 2010 wedding and we are getting soo much food during CH hour. Two pasta stations, two carving boards, and I think three international stations plus the cheese, fruit, antipasta table which I hear is huge.

I wonder if becasue they got the shrimp, which is $15 extra per person, that they traded off for that.

May I ask how the Mini Viennese was? How was it set up, what type of desserts were there? I was offered that as an option but wanted to see how it was first before going w/ it..

I agree - there was WAY more than enough food at the cocktail hour.

I went to a wedding there last year, indoor CH and there was a lot of cheeses, crackers and antipasto, shrimp, fruit and more stuff i don't eat... so basically my choice for CH was pasta and a beef from the carving station. I think maybe the OP felt the same as I did.. there was an abundance of the food they served, just not a lot of choices.. I felt the same at a CLM wedding I recently went to.
I recently went to a NRC wedding and there were 7 or 8 stations of different kinds of food that were very delicious... seafood, asian, italian, carving, and more i just cant remember it all.

it was brought onto the dancefloor...it looked like 2 half moon tables, put together so it formed an oval. one end had coffee and a man adding any liquors you want in it. they had a tray f cookies (like bakery cookies, the sandwhich ones dipped in chocolate and what not), they had a tray with some mini pastries, and then they had choc and vanilla ice cream with sprinkles, cherries, hot fudge and strawberry syrup i think. the other side of teh table had the same cookies and pastries. it was ok, i wasnt impressed. i remember saying to FH 'i hope they didnt pay a lot extra for that'

we also were served a chocolate mousse type dessert right before cake, it was yummy. dont know if that is standard or not

the mini Viennese is in my package... I didn't realize it was so mini. The way it was explained to me is that each table would get a platter of mini pastries and cookies, and the cordial bar would roll in separate.

We're also getting a dessert with the wedding cake.... I love the look of a full Viennese, but I just thought it would be too much food.

Y'all are making me nervous with this cocktail hour thing... it seems as if I get lots of chafing dishes two carving stations and 3 or so additional stations as well as passed plates... I'm going to have to look. It seemed like enough food when we booked....

You are not paying extra for that Mini Viennese correct? That should be included and I feel that it is more than enough.

Well, for me, i have an option of including in my package either the mini viennese OR the trays of cookies & fruit at each table, so i was trying to decide which one was better..
