Went to a NRC wedding last night
so i was a BM in a NRC wedding last night
the CH was good...they had a mashed potato bar, 2 pasta selections, a few seafood selections, duck and more.
i only ate the pasta (ala vodka and pesto) and the potatoes but what i had was tasty.
the only thing i didnt like about CH was there wasnt enough seats for everyone so a few times we were just circling with our food until we could sit down.
oh and there was a martini bar/luge that was really cool. it looked super awesome. i didnt have any but DH did. he mentioned the pineapple martini was super strong.
the ballroom was very pretty. i loved the bar section. im not sure if they always do it or the bride did it but there was uplightng on the sides and it made the bar glow beautifully!
their service was fabulous. the napkins were constantly being refolded and the drinks were always replenished. they served the food very quickly so the whole room was served at once. i had the chateau briand and it was ok, lacked a bit of flavor but still ok.
they served dessert trays which were sooo good.
when we arrived a few hours early they already had food up in the bridal suite. they had fruit and cheese trays and also hawaiian chicken (soooo good), calamari, pasta and something else. people were up there taking drink orders as well. it was nice and relaxing.
again im not sure if this is NRC or the bride but in the room was a little dark. they had all the strobe light thingies from the DJ so i dont know if he wanted the room dark to enhance his lighting or if its always that dark but IMO i would have lighted at least the corners with pin point or spot lights or something just to brighten it a bit. you could hardly see people's faces unless you were right near them. oh and she had large tall CP's. the vases were pretty thick so it made it hard to see. we were at table 3 and couldnt see the bride and groom and we were only 2 tables away.
