Went to a wedding at Carltun on the Park...

The ceremony was there, outside. The invite said to get there at 11 and the ceremony was 11:30, we were greeted with champagne and orange juice, and I think a blush wine, then they told us to go into the parlor type room until the ceremony began.

We went outside for the ceremony, it was very nice, a little cold when the sun went in and windy, but very nice.

Now for the food, it was a buffet.......

Cocktail hour: the centerpiece they had was a small bowl of water with 1 rose in it.

They had all the basics, cheeses, all that kind of stuff. The passed were potato perogies, spinach square thing, sesame and spicy chicken, some mushroom thing and there was a rumor about baby lamb chops, but I don’t think they has the same amount of those as they did everything else. (That’s all I can remember about that)

The Dinner: Okay, like I said they had a buffet, we had a salad appetizer, no pasta.

In the buffet they had:
-large roasted pig
-a few different kinds of pasta
-shrimp, scallops, salmon and swordfish (the salmon and swordfish was like a small square)
-calamari
-chicken francise, and I think either chicken scaloppini or marsala (I Don’t remember)
-the wok station

For Dessert:
-The cake
-about 3 or 4 kinds of cheese cake
-cream puffs
-fruit
-apple strudel
-espresso and cordial bar.

I don’t have the pics with me I will try to remember to post later, I didn’t take that many. The CP’s in the room were very tall with large calla lilies and I think white hydrangeas.

Oh the service, our waitress was nice and pretty on top of things, although when we asked her to clear out plates, she said oh, someone else will do that. Everyone was very nice, the only way to get drinks was by your waitress or to go to the bar in the CH room. Also I think the CH room was a little crowded.

The food was very good overall. I think there were about 130-150 people there.

We could go outside, they had some tables out there, but like I said it was a little chilly.

But there were people, many the guys and then randomly, people who smoke going outside.

We were able to go out through the CH room to go outside throughout the reception.

Re: Went to a wedding at Carltun on the Park...

I am just surprised that the cocktail room felt too crowded.. That does not seem like a lot of people- and I think the min the Carltun requires people to guarantee is 175. But that room is pretty big..

Did it feel crowded cause there were not enough tables? Or was it that the stations took up so much room? Did they keep the couches in there?

Yes the couches were in there, and some huge chairs too. There were only like 3 stations, and they were not in the way at all, b/c most of the food was passed.

The room wasn't really crowded, there just weren't enough seats.
