Went to a wedding at the Carlyle
Went to a wedding at Carlyle on the green on Saturday 7/31...
Cocktail hour was amazing... they went all out! There was a pizza bar, a panani station, a mashed potato bar, a sushi bar... along with your traditional stuff like cheese and fruit and all that fun stuff. There was a roasted pig too! The only thing that was a pain is that it was spread out over two rooms, and there wasn't a lot of seating. Actually, it was three rooms because there was food on the patio as well. The hallway where we found our seat was HOT!
The rooms were beautiful- very bright and open which I like. The floor was VERY slippery! Not wet, just the wood itself for some reason... One of my friends fell and I almost did several times... The drinks were good (nice and full of alcohol!). The food during the reception was okay. The first appetizer was a fancy salad dish which I only ate the cheese off of. The pasta was very garilicy! I liked it but most of the people at my table didn't eat it. The main course was okay- I couldn't finish my chicken because they were talking about the roasted pig, but the people who got the fillet found it a little tough.
The vienese hour was also incredible- so much food it was crazy! There was a waffle station, ice cream bar, chocolate fondue, the list could go on and on!
They had an italian band play. I'm not sure of their name, and one of the bridesmaids moms did the flowers (she is a professional- I have her name/website if anyone is interested).
Overall it was a really nice wedding, and we were impressed with all that they had there.
