Went to a wedding at the Riviera
and everything was wonderful. If your wedding is there, no need to worry.
The outdoor ceremony area was beautiful; it overlooked the water and it was a pretty sight. Very nice grounds in general. Food was terrific, service was fine as well. The Viennese hour was out of this world-every little pastry you could ever imagine, it was like being at a bakery. Unfortunately, we were so full it turned out to be a bit much. I hope the bride didn't pay too much extra for it! Dinner should come with a warning: Leave room for the exorbitant display of goodies to follow!
A few things I noticed that apply to anyone (for the first two, especially those on a budget):
She did the table cameras but they weren't decorated, they just looked like regular disposables. They looked FINE that way. Everyone else's camera is scattered around the table anyway. The bridesmaids came around to all the tables, handed them out and explained the purpose of them. It worked out well that way.
She had elegant low centerpieces of white and lavendar tulips. I say save the money and go with the simpler, lower, CHEAPER centerpieces. They looked beautiful.
She didn't do the garter and bouquet toss-no one seemed to miss it.
First dance song was the song played at the end of the Wedding Singer: 'I want to make you smile, whenever you're sad....' Very cute.
That's about all I can think of. The new husband and wife are in Hawaii now and I envy them-oh well, ours are coming soon!
