Re: Went to a Wedding at Villa Lombardi's this weekend...

Sure! I just didn't know if anyone had specific questions or anything.....

All in all it was a great wedding! We had a lot of fun! They had SO MUCH food.
The cocktail hour was good. I loved that they had seating for everyone (and this was a pretty big wedding). They had a lot of stations so there weren't long lines for them...which I thought was good b/c I hate waiting on line! There were lines for the bars however...although again, this was a pretty big wedding. At first though it seemed that not everyone was aware of the 2nd bar in the room, and once they were aware, the lines got shorter!! Towards the end of the CH, they ran out of white wine though....(probably best, as I had already had about 3 glasses at this point!!) LOL The CH food was good - particularly the antipasta table and the fried calamari! (YUM) A number of the passed apps were good too! FH had some of the sushi and carvings and said they were 'ok'. He said the eggplant rollitini was very good.

The reception - my only criticism here was that the room was quite crowded! But, again, this was a big wedding! I can't say how the fruit, pasta, and salad were (b/c I was full from the cocktail hour) but for dinner I had the shrimp organaza (sp?) and it was ok (to be honest, I have had better). FH had the salmon and it was a nice big portion...he said it was good. The service was very good, in that our drinks were constantly being filled - only one time did I go up to the bar, and when I did...no line! :) Finally, the Vianesse hour...YUM YUM!! Everything was sooo good....the wedding cake, huge zeppolies, cookies, etc....

All in all a really good, fun wedding! (Oh also, there was another wedding going on there, but they stagger the start times, so that the only time I even saw a hint of another wedding going on was on my way back from the bathroom, I saw someone walk out of the other ballroom. That was it. I really never felt that there was anything besides my friend's wedding going on!)

I think all the VL brides will be happy!
Hope this helps!

Re: Went to a Wedding at Villa Lombardi's this weekend...

Thank you very much!!! I am going to inquire about the running out of wine thing during cocktail hour..But i am glad to hear that you didn't have to go up to the bar during the reception-they made a point to tell me they don't like to see people going up to the bar to grab a drink and no tip cups!

Thanks a bunch again! I am soo excited..80 days..

Do you remember what kind of cake filling it was? Did you like it?

I actually really liked the cake....it was chocolate cake with white (think it was buttercream) icing and filling. The desserts were really amazing....the zeppoles were seriously like the size of my head!! LOL

how many people were at your table? Did it seem tight?

I was at a table of 10 people and it was fine! I know that there were other tables of 12 however. The tables did seem a little close together, but I think that is b/c she had ALOT of people there....
