went to a wedding at westbury manor last night!
ok, this place was gorgeous!! I absolutely loved the outdoor cocktail hour. The grounds were phenomenal! The waterfalls, flowers, just really really a nice setup. There was plenty of seating also which is always a big plus. The food was good, only had like 2 things.(didnt eat much at the cocktail hour b/c FH made us late
) The reception room (unsure of the name but it was the big one) was nicely decorated. Her centerpieces were awesome, I wish I got a picture of them. They were tall cylinders with marbles in the bottom and an orchid inside topped off with a huge bouquet of roses, orchids and calla lillys, absolutely gorgeous. The dinner was outstanding, I had filet mignon and so did FH. The steak was cooked exactly as I ordered it. MY friend's husband had the shrimp and salmon, he said it was very tasty. The bartender did a fabulous job (so fabulous Im on my second lemon-lime gatorade.
) The drinks were strong and no longer lines at either bars (300 people at wedding). Now on to the waiter...... his name was richard, richard seemed as it he REALLY didnt want to be there working and was rather annoyed when we asked a question about ANYTHING. He was very pushy and impolite to say the least. Now this was only RICHARD and no one else there. My friend and her husband arrived at our table a little late which is understandable if you have 300 people trying to get in to a room, so they didnt get a chance to look at the menu choices. Richard was huffing and puffing b/c they asked for a minute to review the menu. ARE U EFFING SERIOUS? Then proceeded to actually tap his foot! My entire table starting laughing b/c we were in disbelief as to what was going on. I dont think they made an unreasonable request, maybe RIch was having a bad day.
The other waitstaff was great, tables cleared, water refilled, polite. I had a really great time and Westbury Manor girls have nothing to worry about.... except for RIchard that is
