Went to a Wedding, mini review
Hey Ladies,
I went to a wedding this Saturday 10/7/06 at Pine Hollow. Here is a mini review.
Church-Cybil and Methodius Church, Deer Park
very nice, they had a full mass, everything was beautiful
Reception-Pine Hollow Caterers and Inn
Ok, I only heard one thing about them before the wedding and I was pleasantly surprised. The Inn is a little odd because the rooms are motel style (outside) and they are tiny, really tiny. Standard rooms have a double bed. I haven't never been to a hotel with only double beds (ps. just one double bed in the room).
As for the reception, the cocktail hour was really lacking tables. There were around 125-135 guests and only 8 tables that seated 4 each. There were a couple of couches, but about only 25% of the guests sat down. I personally hated walking around (barely because the cocktail room is extremely tight) with my drink, bag and plate. Food was good though and bar wasn't too crowded. The reception room had oval tables and the dance floor was in the center. It was very nice. The bar again wasn't too crowded and service was ok. I had the steak and DH has the salmon. It was ok. I liked how the dancefloor had the patio off it. As a smoker it was very convient. The cake was canoli (it looked beautiful but I hate canolli cream). They also served mousse which I ate.
Bridal Suite of Huntington-ok, all her bridesmaids were furious. The dresses were first ordered in wrong color (completely wrong, they sent peach, they were suppose to be navy). The replacement dresses came 2 days before the wedding. They are all suppose to be receiving a $75 refund via mail. We'll see... The dresses were bill levkoff. They were stunning.
I don't know the other names of her vendors, but when she gets back from her Honeymoon I'll ask as well as permission to show her pics. I hope this helps you ladies.
