hey guys, I checked out duet photo, and I was really impressed. They gave me a really good deal. I asked nichole, how are the payments made, she said we are not like others, we usually take the entire payment on the wedding day. is this normal? I know most places take the remainder after the wedding, once when you got to look at the pictures. what do you think? I know some are using duet, can you tell me what you did on payments i greatly appreciate it guys thanks

We paid some before, and some will be paid when we get our albums. I don't think I'd be comfortable handing over all the money before I got my albums. Plus, who wants to worry about paying on the day of your wedding... you have better things to be doing!

I think it's odd also. It's not the type of service that ends on the wedding day so final payment should not be due then.
We paid our photog a big chunk 2 weeks before the wedding and the balance is due when we order our album.

i wouldnt be comfortable doing that...paying all that money and having nothing in your hands to show for it... patken leaves the last 1/3rd of payment due when proofs are picked up....

I used Duet for video for my wedding last weekend and we paid the entire balance to them that day, which, actually, I'm glad we did, because now we don't have to worry about paying anything more out.
As for worrying about having to pay vednors day of -- all your vendors will expect to be paid day of, and most likely, they will want cash. In my case the florist, the band, the harpist, the limo company, the bus company all wanted cash the day of. We had envelopes full of cash that we handed over to the maitre d, who watched over them. I still have a balance with my photographer (not Duet), but she wanted to be paid a good chunk of the bill day of, as well.
Ask them if you can pay 10% when you pick up if it makes you feel better. I think they will work with you. I have to say, they were really wonderful to work with.

I wouldn't be comfortable with paying them in full BEFORE I got the product I was paying for. We have 3 payments to make to our photographer - 1, when we signed, 1, the day of the wedding and the last when we pick up the album.

i booked duet i also was unconfortable with the payment thing it is unlike anyother but i trust them (i don't know why) i feel really comfortable with them so i booked regardless
