I'm not happy to see how expensive digital albums are. The package I want is $4,000. I was hoping to spend between $2,000 & $2,500. What I'm looking for is a digital album with about 50 images, color and the option of having some b&w and sepia pics, 2 parent albums, one portrait either 11 x 14 or 8 x 10 and a cd of all images. I want both traditional and photojournalism but it seems to be a bit more expensive with the photojournalism. Is candid much different? I see some photographers do candid and others do photojournalism.
Is what I'm looking for doable at my price range?
Any advice/suggestions or if you know of any photographers that you can recommend are greatly appreciated. I know there are many threads on photographers but I figured I'd give it a shot too. Everyone is so helpful on here! Love these boards!

The digital albums can be really expensive. Check out Artisan. He did a really nice job and his packages are the same for digital albums and traditional. His prices were very reasonable too.

I don't think that you're going to be able to get everything that you're looking for for that price. You can definitely find a photographer for $2500, but normally that doesn't include any albums. I think 12th Night does low cost packages where they give you a cd of all of your pics and then you can create albums on Shutterfly yourself.

My price range was $3k. I found quite a few, it was hard to narrow them down. It seems you and I have similar ideas/taste. I chose ADA, they offer $1200 to shoot the whole day. At a later date I can choose my albums, prints etc. All should total $3k. For further info. FM me I can give you all my photog. research info.

I went with jessica photography in babylon and they had a nice package for around fourish. Unfortunately that seems to be the magic number, but Jack's work (the owner) is great and offers all the different stuff you are looking at like I have. As a photographer myself, I was impressed.

Yeah, from what I'm seeing, $4,000 seems to be the average. I guess it was a reality check and now I will re-evaluate my budget or search to find one for less. Thank you all for responding. I don't know what I'd do without these boards!

I would try Patken & Duet. They will be around your budget for just photo

My friend this did this...she had to get her own albums and prints but she got the type of photography she wanted and they were beautiful pics
