We found out that the manufacturer that made the setting for my engagement ring, does not have a matching wedding ring. To have one custom made would cost over $4,000!! It would have over 2 carats of diamonds in it. I told him I don't need that much, just make it thinner with less diamonds and how much would that be? He told me not much less because the price is so high because of the fact that it is custom, needs to have a mold made, etc. He is ordering a wedding band that looks very similar to my e-ring and hopefully it will look right. He'll call me when it comes in.

I'm having the same problem. My ring isn't flush and nothing sits right against it. I'm going to wear it on my right hand and buy a wedding band I love for my left.

Check with different stores in the diamond district. They may be able to make it for you for much less.

i have a similar deal. the band that matches my ering is $5,000. was planning on having one custom made (i'm even desperate enough to have them make it with sterling silver and cubic zirconia - lol), but now you have me scared about pricing.

Thanks Hollie, but the place I went to is a wholesaler as it is -- not a high-priced jewelry store. I just had NO IDEA that it would cost this much -- I'm kinda shell-shocked.

elsa, the company that sponsored the free ring contest, makes all custom jewelry. they can make you exactly what you want, and make it all in wax before they make the gold ring so you can make sure it's perfect. give it a try--their prices didn't seem that bad.

I don't know where you looked but I've heard that Elsa does custom work and they are not extremely expensive. I haven't personally been there myself, but it's definitely worth a look!
