Went to Morton's last night...
for Restaurant Week. I dunno if it's Downtown Brooklyn or all of Brooklyn... but there's a restaurant week going on.
However
The sign says come for Restaurant Week, lunch and dinner.
So the waiter gave us the whole steak display Morton's spiel with the regular dinner menu and left. FH and I were like... blink, blink. We (I) wasn't planning on dropping $200 for dinner (This was FH's subsitutue birthday dinner cause th storm happened the night we were supposed to go. He picked this place near his job. WE've never been before) so when the waiter came back I asked.
He said oh... well,.... the signs are a little misleading. IT says lunch and dinner... but each restaurant has the option to decide whether to do lunch OR dinner OR both. So we've opted to do just lunch. Sorry.
Mmmmmmkay... well, that's crummy. We use restaurant week to try new places. So I don't want to walk into a place where I don't know the menu or the prices and then be stuck paying the full bill. but we were seated already, so what could we do? So we ****** it up. Since FH works full time and I don't he wouldn't let me pay the whole thing, which was really nice cause he takes me to expensive dinners all the time.
But anyway, lesson learned. Even though signs are posted, I will always call a restaurant before I go for restaurant week and check to see what menu they're serving. Good grief.
PS... Food was, however, amazing, and I'm about to finish my leftover shrimp alexander and side mac and cheese. YUUUMMMMMMM
