Went to my bridal shop tonight....for what was supposed to be my first fitting.

This was supposed to be my first fitting.. however I told the lady to just pin it in the places she feels needs to be taken in and in 2 weeks I will come back and that will be considered my first fitting. I did not want her to pull anything out and sew anything just yet... I know I know.. I am being a little obsessive about my weight but I need to lose 10 pounds. I really just need to tone my arms and back muscles b/c I want to look my best in my strapless gown.. any tips ladies.. any workouts at home I can do?

The consultant who worked with me (she is also the manager) never told me how high my heels should be.. she had given me a sample pair to try on that day b/c obviously at that time I had not even gotten my shoes yet, she took the measurements from the naval of the neck to the floor (for dress height).. anyway months past and I got my shoes already and had them dyed to match my gown.. HOWEVER, they are too short! I need a 4' heel now!! because these 2 1/4 inch heels won't work.. the dress is too long! It's too late to send my gown back at this point so.. I am now going to have to buy another pair of shoes with a higher heel... UGH... now what am I going to do with the shoes I have?

All in all.. I LOVE the gown I still am very happy with it and it's gorgeous.

That's horrible! So sorry! They told me I needed to buy my shoes first and THEN come back in for the hollow to hem measurement. How were you supposed to know? They should have told you and had you do it that way!

What color are the shoes? Can you wear them to another occasion, or maybe dye them black?

i feel for you my dress had the special measurement and came in too short, i am getting married the day after you and they did send it back,

can they maybe take the dress up from the waist?

I am going to call the manager today and see what she says. The alteration dept told me they would not be able to take the length up.. I think they are full of it. They should be able to take the length up from the waist so I won't lose detail of the dress.

The weird thing is.. the day I chose the gown the lady took the measurement with the sample shoes on from hollow to hem and then ordered it that way. Never telling me you know what be sure to get heels the same height as the samples b/c this is what we are basing the measurement of the dress on... UGH

I agree they should have done it that way.

I had my shoes dyed to champagne. I guess, worse case scenario I could have them dyed to black to be able to wear them..

I am going to call them tomorrow since they are closed today and pan this all out.

Oh U ended up going there ??? Cool, Wacky ,, yea my sister in law mentioned that , but i didnt say anything , as my sil is wacky too ,LOL

Maybe.. I live about 5-6 minutes away from West Islip where the salon is.
