went to open houses today

FH and I went to quite a few open houses today (in CT) to find out that we cant afford ANYTHING...and what we could afford, we dont like!

This is sad because we both have good jobs-I am a teacher (not making millions, but it pays the bills) and FH works for GE in the finance department...

UHH at this rate we will be looking forever!

I hear you. I realized that in order to afford something we want, we need to mobve away from ny. hang in there, you will find something eventually.

the prices seriously are getting ridiculous Everywhere!!! DH & i make pretty good money, BUT the sad part is that-- in 3 years, we'll be making Great money (& thats based on minimum expectancy), and we Still wont be able to comfortably afford a nice sized house in the area that we want

Exactly!! and may i add... Ridiculous!

Oh jeepers, I guess my FI and I are going to be homeless if this is the case!! We have sorta started to look but I don't know what we can afford and what I'm hearing by all of these posts I've been reading, we are really in trouble. We'll be a married couple still living in our parents homes and meeting after work only to go home and sleep in separate beds. Ughh...sorta depressing!!
