ok so this has been like pulling teeth for me. i dont want to get married in a church its just not for me! were paying an arm,leg and my first born to have the wedding at majestic gardens which has amazing grounds i want to get married there! i havent been to church since i was in 5th grade. just seems silly to me.
anyway... FH was an alter boy for years his mom and g-ma are stil extremely active in the church so i feel like they would not approve of our marriage unless it was in a church. (same goes for my mom and g-ma) My dad just wants me to be happy! (go dad)... so i called my church and the lady told me that the priest would call me back in a few min...4 days later i get a phone call and he was not very pleasant and he said oh ur young... DUH!!.. so i dont want to get married there.. FH wants to get married at his church which is fine my family said i dont care as long as its some kind of church.
so ive been putting it off forever b/c it makes me nervous and im just not comfortable in a church (dont know why just am) so FH tricked me into go yesterday just to look aound and to sum it all up i LOVED it.... its so pretty and VERY small its perfect! im so happy he tricked me into going cuz i would have never went. so now we just need to speak to the priest cuz he wasnt there yesterday!

At least you fell in love with it!! I would have been way worse having to feel uncomfortable with where your ceremony took place. Go FH!!!!
BTW: My priest thought we were too young to get married too. When we first spoke to him, he said he didn't marry teenagers. After we told him that we'd be 22/23 by the time we actually got married, he came around a bit.

i just hate the feeling of having to do it in front of a whole bunch of people.. im a very 'to my self' kinda girl... this is the most uncomfortable feel.. but it will be quick. no mass involved just the ceremony. and the priest is 30 so hes young too.... and the aisle is SHORT which i love even more!!

Nah don't be scared its really the best thing to do for a wedding even if your not religious because it just looks so damn good IoI I wanted to do a church wedding only because I love the way a church looks. I am religious but in my own way and fh hates teh church so it wasn't going to work out for us.
Yes its a pretty place and enjoy it!

I originally did not want to have it in a church. But I finally wanted to as its so traditional and looks really nice..but ultimately you need to do what makes you happy!

out meeting with our priestt wasn't that bad...he was actually pretty funny, he asked us if were both in our right minds when we agreed to do this..blah blah..it was pretty low stress, I hope yours is too!!!!

Same with ours. He didn't even bat an eyelash when we both gave him the same address... he even asked how long we've lived together. You'll walk out of that meeting saying 'that was nothing!'

yea im hoping so. FMIL is very active in the church, never misses a beat if u know what imean. anyway hes a new priest just started about a month ago. Young guy just 30 and he really wants to get more young people involved in the church so im hoping that it will be much more then i expect! kinda looking foward to it.
