We're doing our walk through of our house tonight...UPDATE
Any suggestions of what we should look for? We've already been told to make sure we turn on all water to make sure they are working properly. What else?

The engineer should have checked out everything significant. I think the walk through is just to make sure everything is as it was when you went into the contract.

check that all the windows open and shut... someone also told me to check each of the outlets... but we didnt do this... look inside all of the cabinets, flush the toilets... check that all the appliances turn on and off... the dishwasher, washing machine, dryer... we got screwed and had to get a new washing machine!

Look for water marks on the walls in the basement and also check the roof.
My FH and I bought our house is January. We love it! You learn so much while buying a house

It went great!! The homeowners are SO nice. The woman went through all of the appliances with me and showed me how they work while FH was in the yard with her husband learning about the plumbing and backyard items (shed, extra siding they are leaving us). I went through the house with my broker very well. I can't wait to close!!!!

Did you have the engineer come and look? Our friend didn't, and has lived in what she thought was a perfect hosue for the past 6 months, only to be infested with termites and now has close to $50000 worth of repairs to do. just a heads up!

Do a full cycle of the waher and dryer. We just checked tomake sure the water went in. but when we moved in and did the first load, a pipe was missing when it went to rinse. We were standing in an inch of water in our basement.
