We are volunteers with the ASPCA and they just got a black lab (mix) puppy in who needs a temporary home. Poor little guy is only 4 weeks old. Not sure of his story yet but he didn't come in with a mom.
Not sure how long we will have him but we are so excited!!! I have been so stressed about things lately (not wedding related) that my hair has fallen out. I think this puppy will be a lot of work but so much fun!
We aren't ready to adopt (I have allergies) but we are excited to be foster parents to a little pup who needs a home.
My fiance is bouncing off the walls! He is so obsessed with puppies.

Good Luck...
I have a baby beagle now...that helps me relieve so much stress because she is so affectionate...it really really helps calm your nerves....
I want to see a pic!

Re: We're getting a puppy today!! update!!!
Just an update. Our puppy is wonderful and in 2 nights we have slept about 4 hours total. She is getting better though. She is totally adorable. Will try to scan a picture soon. She is only 6 weeks old and should still be with her mom but since she was abandoned - it's better she is with us until the ASPCA finds a permanent home for her (rather than in the kennel where she could catch something since she was just vaccinated)
The big problem though is that I think she brought FLEAS to the apartment. I thought I had allergic hives the past two days because I am allergic to dogs sometimes. I just found out hives can be from fleas too. I noticed a small bug on her blanket that jumped off when I tried to get it!!! She has been scratching a lot too so I'm thinking it's a good chance it's fleas. Ugh - this is going to be tough. Will call ASPCA tomorrow to see if she was given a flea bath before she got here and will call the extermintor. Poor puppy has had a tough 6 weeks!

I would love to be a foster home, but I am scared I would fall in love with any puppy I took in.
