We're married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! long post

Well ladies, it is 8:30 the day after my wedding...and while FH, i mean DH is sleeping, i had to come on and say hello quickly. Yesterday was really a dream come true. We had soooooooo many ridiculous mishaps. One thing after another went wrong but it was still the best day of our lives. The reason im going into detail about the mishaps are because some of them are hysterical. It all started in the a.m. I had my hair done and couldnt believe it, we were ahead of schedule. My mom and i only went to the salon to get our hair done together because the salon completely messed up the booking system. It was great having that time with her. I even had time to stop at starbucks in my town on the way home and with my veil in, they wouldnt let me pay for my coffee. I was so cool, calm and collected....not teary at all which is sooooooo not me! I got home and was having my makeup done when my mother realized my veil was on backwards (the edging was facing the wrong way and the longer layer was on top)..back to the salon i went. I got home to find my sister, my MOH crying. She had her hair done twice at a salon and it was horrible both times so she redid it herself but she ran behind schedule. She looked gorgeous. Fast forward to 1:50...boarding the bus, and dad and i are getting into the rolls to go to the church. My sister looks up to the sky and says 'i really hope it doesnt rain' when all of a sudden, a bird flying overhead directly pooped on her forehead....Now i cant stop laughing. We got to the church and they put the aisle runner down upside down
(custom aisle runer, words were facing down) but they fixed it. We had the most beautiful and personalized ceremony i could ever hope for. And by this point i still havent cried. The deacon who married us is a close family friend and after the ceremony i was walking to thank the string quartet and he stepped on my 9' detachable train and RIPPPPPPPPPP 6/8 hook and eyes came out and my train was hanging. Bring on the safety pins. Now we're doing pictures at the arboretum. We did our massive 32 people bridal party pics and it was our turn. So the photographer brought us down by the water. Unfortunately what appeared to be a swarm of mini dragonflies or tiny bees LOVED my dress. Needless to say on the way to the reception my dh was picking these insects out of the layers of my gown...very romantic. We got to the reception and the floral terrace hit everything on the nose. They did an amazing job and we couldnt have been happier. Our dj was phenomenal...i didnt even notice that the percussionist we paid for didnt show up. In the bridal suite during the cocktail hr we had the kids (8) of them coloring and stuff and using color wonder which is suspposed to work on only the special paper....yeah no...my 4 year old nieces white gown had blue allllllllllllllllllllllllll over it....it was more like a color explosion of blue on her gown. Luckily my sister in law is smart and basically washed each layer and dried the entire thing...her gown was white again. Now we're in the reception and home free except for the lack of the percussionist and the dj did our photo montage 3 quarters of the way through the wedding to a techno song instead of the beginning before we came out to the song we had chosen....i was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomad about that. It lost it specialness but whatever. Oh and yes the flowers were completely wrong as well but they looked beautiful regardless especially my bo-k so its all good. Well thats about it for now. The lesson is this: dont let the small stuff get to you...i found humor in everything and it was the best day of our lives because of that humor. Ill have pics posted a little later. Oh and piece of advice for the upcoming brides...eat SOMETHING the morning of your wedding. I ate absolutely nothing and felt really sick at one point of the day. Love you all!
