Were OOT people invited to your shower....

if so did they send a gift?

I think it is rude when OOTers dont send a gift!!!!

EDIT - My OOT's are far.....Arizona, Vegas, Utah...they are eithe family or close friends of mine.

yeah FMIL's sister and her sisters daughter in laws were invited and were all OOT but they came. THen fh's dads sister and a few of his cousins were OOT but they also came

A lot of our guest list is OOT... FH's family, my school friends, etc and I am assuming they are not invited to my shower although I am not sure. Don't want them to feel like we are only inviting them for gifts.

FMIL is throwing me a small shower out here, so we will invite those guests in this general area to this shower instead.

i gave my list to MOH with everyone on it- i said send them anyway- because if they dont get an invite there will be things said----Family

a lot of our OOT guests sent a gift but a lot did not. Most were cousins of fh that i had never met before so i really wasn't expecting anything

Yes they were and a few sent a gift and a few didnt....

To my shower I had a couple cousins and a friend from OOT but they came with gifts.

But, I just got a response from an OOT to my wedding and although they can't make it they still sent a check with the rsvp. Very nice of them!

Hmmm. A few of the locals didnt send gifts either. I just think that is rude.

Ok....but I am especially annoyed bc one of my friends in Vegas invited me to her graduation party and I couldnt go but sent a gift! And what do I get from her for my shower...nothing!!!! (This is also someone who was on my 'b' list but had to bump her up to the 'a' list when she invited herself to the wedding. Last time I saw her she complained about flight prices!!!)

Since FH's family is from Pittsburgh and so many of the guests are from there I get to have 2 showers! FH's mom and sisters decided to do that... so we just invited the Pittsburgh people to that one, and the NY people to the NY one that my my sis and mom are in charge of... I'm excited!

there were a few OOT family members that were invited but we knew weren't going to come - they are already trekking out from CA for the wedding in a couple of weeks. But they did send gifts from the registry to my house.

my sisters are in disagreement over this.... one of my sisters says invite everyone and the other one says its looking for a gift and if they are in California or London its not necessary? I don't know what they decided. My shower is a surprise so I will let them talk it over and decide.

I haven't had my shower yet but my for my engagement party, the OOT people sent gifts. IDK if that is the norm tho. It is mostly family.

Yes OOTers are invited to my shower. My shower hasn't happened yet but I know the invites went out about a month ago and I did receive some gifts at my house from OOTers.

i don't know about my shower, but presents have been coming to my house. oot'ers were invited and one of the presents was a suprise from an ooter.

I asked for them to be invited so that they knew I wanted them there but I don't expect that they will be able to come (my shower didn't happen yet!) I don't know if they will send a gift or not. I know my aunts will bec. they are family. I agree with you that it is rude if they don't send something though!! Whenever I can't make it to someone's shower I get them something...or I chip in with someone!
