dinner at our place tomorrow night, and then sunday is all about gettin ready to go back to work =( we're both teachers so we had the week off

aww your vacation is coming to an end! actually it sounds like it was very relaxing for you!

i'm going to NY to meet with photog and try on gowns with my mom and MOH. i wasn't going to but my foot is feeling a lot better!

oh that'll be fun, you went the first time the other day right??? dont forget your camera this time!!! my mom, MOH, BM and I were supposed to go BM dress shopping today in massapequa but with the effing snow we decided that the trip could wait....the weather was supposed to be nasty all day, and it wasnt that bad, but my BM backed out so we figured we'd wait.

yes! it was so fun and i'm DEFINITELY bringing the camera this time when do you guys think you'll go shopping for the BM dresses? that's one of the things i'm dreading the most, believe it or not. i'm so worried that everyone won't be pleased.

i think we're gonna try and do after work one night, the BM and I are both teachers and my mom and MOH can get out early so we might go right after i get out of work one night, otherwise i'll wait till the easter break....i cant be bothered with dealing with bridal salons on a weekend with 8 million people there!

as for difficulties, i chose a line and i'm doing black dresses, the girls have like 20 dresses to choose from, so if they have complaints after that then they are just drama queens!!!!!

i joined LIW just before you got your cast off, how did you hurt your foot?

your girls are going to LOVE you for that. i think you're being so diplomatic when it comes to their dresses.

i had foot surgery - i had to have joints fused on 3 of my toes. essentially, they broke the toes and put pins in them.. the pins stayed in for 6 weeks until the bone tissue was strong enough. now they're tender and they ache. slowly but surely i'm healing. i still can't wear real shoes and jog, which i mention all the time because of how sad it makes me!!!!! but i hope to be running marathons in no time.

you're almost at 1000!!!!

ouch that sounds painful, i'm glad its getting better for you! i fell (b/c i'm a clutz) at school and sprained my left ankle, and tore all the ligaments on the top of my right foot so i can understand walking pain....no cast but i couldnt wear heels or really anything other than sneakers for like 8 months

what shops do you plan to do dress shopping at when you come to NY?

OOHH NO! that sounds sooooo painful! does it still hurt every now and then or is it completely healed?

i made appointments last minute so i couldn't get one at Kleinfelds. also i can't go to RK Bridal b/c i'm meeting w/ a photog at 1 and sign up ends there at 1:30. i have an appointment at the Bridal Building, i'm going to stop by Macy's wedding shop (for the demetrios dresses) and i'm stopping by Bridal Reflections at Carle Place on Sunday. I thought it was sooo weird that Bridal Reflections needed a credit card to make the appointment! they really don't want you to cancel!

my ankles hurt sometimes, i used to be able to rotate them and make them crack which sounds gross but they dont do that anymore.....i just feel unsteady in heels sometimes for the most part.

as far as BR that is weird, but i guess they must have a big cancellation problem there......i dont plan on starting to look at dresses for me until easter.....i have that thursday & friday off so i'm thinking of taking a trip to the city on one of those days to go to kleinfelds and RK bridal.

wahoo....4 more to go!!!

awwww! i love the day b/c its right when school ends so its always nice to look foward to the end of school and know your anniversary is right there, and its an excuse to go away right after school ends....AND my birthday is march 28th so its one less number for FH to remember!

as for the dresses I like the Jim Hjelm tea legth line....so theres a good 15-20 dresses I like for the girls to choose from....i only have 4 so them settling on 4 different styles shouldnt be a problem! i hope!

what kind of dresses are you looking at for your girls?

OH i was actually asking about your wedding dresses that you had in mind! but those sound great. i really don't know about my BM dresses yet. we're soooo in the beginning stages and i haven't really spoken to everyone about what they like and don't like. i also am not set on colors yet so it's hard to envision the whole thing. also, i'm having one bridesman, so i want him to have the same suit as the groomsmen, but distinguish him somehow from them. not sure how that's going to play out!

how long have you been teaching now? do you like it?

oh my bad! i dunno what i want, definately something with not thick straps but not spaghetti straps, i've got girls up top and strapless stuff is just uncomfortable, i'm pretty sure i want a dress with a lace overlay and some beading detail all over.....but ya never know i could try it on and hate it.

i teach high school science....its my 2nd official year and the stress is building, every year administraion has to tell you by March 15th if you will be returning the following year until you get tenure....sooooo i'm hoping i'll have good news and i'll get to do a 3rd which will be my tenure year at my current school next year....i really like it there and get along really well with the teachers i share my room with and everything....plus my commute is like 7 mins! i love it!

what do you do?

your job sounds wonderful! i know you don't need luck in coming back for that third year - i'm sure they'll have you return! but i'll cross my fingers. March 15th will be here in no time.

I'm a Financial Assistant at an IT staffing firm. i recently relocated to the firm's Philadelphia office from NY. Beyond that, I'm doing my pre-reqs for an accelerated BSN program, which I'll be going into full time. I'm leaving my job at that point because it's recommended that we not work while we're in the program. Long story very short, my personal experiences led me to realize that I'm going to be unhappy unless I'm helping people. I knew I was too old and poor to become a doctor so I chose to become a nurse. Namely, a palliative care/hospice nurse, hopefully, when school is over!
