I was a flowergirl in my aunt's wedding when I was 5. Unfortunately, I was afraid of the big mean photographer and cried for every picture. I have to scan a picture that my mom took when I was walking down the aisle! I look scared to death!!!

Re: Were you ever a flowergirl?
I always wanted so badly to be a flowergirl. But the only wedding that happened in my family was my uncle to my aunt beth, but they didn't allow children. I was three or four at the time. Their marriage didn't last unfortunely as well. My cousin eloped a year ago because she was expecting. No one else in family is married. That is both sides. I joke that there have been more divorses than weddings. This may explain why I want so many flower girls and children at my wedding. I just want it to be fun!

I was, I was!!! I remember being terrified and a bit po'd because everyone was staring at me. I ran to my Mom half way down the aisle! I hope to God my niece doesn't do that the day of my wedding.

I think kids add flavor to the wedding, making it unquie and fun. Even if she tip toes around the train, or cries, or skips, or anything, I think kids make the wedding extra speical.

Re: Were you ever a flowergirl?
Oh I agree! My mom didn't even want kids at the wedding/reception because she didn't want havoc the day of, but FH and I love kids and want all of our nieces and nephews there to party with us. But I'm so paranoid about the whole 'walking down the aisle' part. I'm afraid the ring bearers will have a temper tantrum, or that one of the BM's trips, etc. I just want the ceremony to go smoothly.

Re: Were you ever a flowergirl?
I was twice!! Once for my aunt when I was 6 and once for my mom's friend when I was 10. The latter I wore a mini-wedding dress, and when I got in the limo w/the bridal party (which thinking of it now I don't know y they insisted on this instead of me being w/my parents), anyway when I got in, the hoop on the bottom of the dress sent the bottom flying up over my head when I sat in the low limo seat. I was sooo embarassed and I only had the comfort of the drunk wedding party to make me feel better for the 20 minute ride. Its funny now, but was horrifying when I was 10!!!

I was a flower girl twice too, once for my uncle's wedding when I was 2, and once for my other uncle's wedding when I was 5.
