Just got off the phone with FH.....2 people I was certain wouldn't miss it are not coming. The thing that pizzes me off is that one of them INVITED HERSELF, and then now isn't coming Just venting.

yeah, i was surprised .... especially by one of DH's best friends from childhood ... this guy was supposed to come be our witness for the marriage license! but he sent me (not DH) a facebook message that said 'i don't think i'm gonna make it' ... we thought he was joking, but he wasn't.
anyway, i was also surprised by some of the yes's ... people i expected wouldn't come because of the distance or whatnot, but still came with bells on

haha. one of my moms friends invited herself. fine, whatever, totally tacky....so we invited her to the shower too. she declined, no gift.
then for the wedding they were stuck in EU with the volcano issues so she didnt come either
and no gift
why invite yourself? some people are soooo weird

yup. some of my family who went to my bro's wedding 2 yrs ago (closer to when my parents split up) are telling my mom they arent going to come because they feel awkward around my dad. grrrrrrr

It's a bit disappointing...I agree. There were definitely some that I was happy to hear weren't coming cause they wer courtesy invites. But now there's been a few that told us they were going to make it...and then we get the no rsvp.

FH works in an office of 10 ppl. The woman who sits in the office next to him responded no. We thought she would have told him to his face, btw I have a prior committment bla bla bla, but no. She actually never said anything about it and he wont bring it up.

I was surprised by some of the no's- what surprised me most was that there was no explanation- ie- sorry we can't make it, we another wedding, bday, etc. Even more surprising were some cousins that said yes and then canceled less than a week before. Also had a BIL cancel because he was on antibiotics and didn't think it would be a good idea to get on a plane!

yes, a lot from my side did not come. i tried to not get upset bc they had their reasons, either money or personal events... but i was a little upset.
we actually had our wedding on the biggest jewish holiday (sept. 18th, not knowing when we booked) and those friends that are very religious we 100% thought they were NOT coming and they DID and the others we thought were positives DID NOT come.. so you never know!!!!

Our response cards are still trickling in, so far there have only been a few 'No's' that really surprised me...but we'll see

One of my close co-workers ended up replying no which upset me because it was unexpected. He knew about my wedding since we booked, I sent him a save the date well in advance, and then obviously the invitation. His reason for no: his in laws booked a vacation for them. Um, okay. I wanted to say your in laws didn't ask you if you had plans before booking it??
