I live in East Meadow. My dogs..... With this ridiculous weather how on earth can we make sure everything in our back yard is okay for the dogs? My mom has flower pots all over the deck. UGH!!
Anyone bought anything to keep away the mosquitoes? Is there anything to put on pets for their protection? Something else to worry about.

as long as there are not a lot of them!! I remember last summer........... they found some birds in seaford and massapequa too unfortuantely they crop up all around our areas

Tammy do you put anything on your cutie? Like a collar or something? I saw a commercial this morning for a collar as a flea, tick and mosquito repellant. I have to buy something for my doggies. I better head to Petco today.

I use Advantage on Angel it is a cream you put on once a month behind her ears and by her hind legs and she gets a heart worm pill(heartgard)
my dr. said the two combined are better than Over the counter collars you buy, those white things? b/c many dogs are allergic to them and they dont work too good
xena also has a pill she takes I forgot the name(sentinel) Just remembered! but no collar or cream for her the cream is for mini dogs under like 20 lbs

Thanks Tammy for bumping this. I have been so busy I haven't been on the boards... I got him a collar before I read your suggestions. They both take heart worm pills once a month. Its not Heartgard. Its a green box. I will call the vet and mention what you told me about the cream.. Thanks! The cutie on the box looks like your baby. Except yours is cuter.

thanks only the little dogs need the cream, its not really a cream, its clear in a tube what kind of dog(S) do you have ? they may not need the advantage stuff

We have rollie pollie shi tzus. They both weigh under 20 pds. Although Chelsea is a sausage. That is the vet's nickname for her. She gained 4 pounds from her last visit! So he said she needs to be on a diet. It ain't happening the way my Dad spoils her.

if that little (UNDER 20) ask b/c they may need the cream, its only during the summer months April-october that angel gets that not in the winter
guess it depends on the heartworm they take b/c it may be built in? Its not in hers
