Has anyone had their wedding or been to a wedding at West Sayville Country Club? I love the romance of the mansion but I am a little concerned with the dance floor being in a separate room. I am also concerned that they do not have a patio and the outside cocktail hour would be on the grass- just concerned about the women in heels...Thanks everyone

I looked there recently and agree with you about the dance floor and the grass. I am bringing FH tomorrow for a tasting. I will let you know how it goes.

Re: West Sayville Country Club
I worked there in HS and the deck where the dance floor is used to be an exposed deck where CH was held....I always thought they should have kept it that way because people always commented on the beautiful views during CH. Anyway, when I worked there they had great food...good luck!

It was in the corner of the main room...by the fireplace if that is still there. Basically when you walked in the main doors from the foyer you were on the dance floor

def check out the pics in vintagegirl's review. there is technically a wall between the dance floor & dining room, but it has 3 sets of double doors and 2 huge windows in it, so it still feels like one big room to me. the dance floor is in a big sun porch type of room with a wrap-around strip of huge windows that look out onto the bay. it's not by the fireplace anymore, and you don't walk directly into it from the foyer (from the foyer your enter the dining room). the room it's in now is a fairly new extension that they put on the back so now you walk through the dining room to get to the dance floor.

Re: West Sayville Country Club
I had concerns about that dance floor at first, but the more I visited the place, the more unique and special I felt about it. Also, they put small coctail type table around the edges of that room so people can sit and mingle but also dance, and those who want to look outside can and those who want to be a bit away from the music can look through the large windows from the dining room. I'm not really concerned about the grass, I saw tables and chars set up, its really not a far walk at all to go outside. The 'Anne of Green Gables' feel of the place and Steve, won me over.
My biggest issues are band vs. dj and flowers. I'm having a small wedding, I am partial to band, but I do love the sound of original artists, but with only 50 person wedding I am afraid an 8 piece band is overkill and hard time finding a good sounding 6 piece one. Suggestions?
Hope that helps in terms of WSCC opinion.

Re: West Sayville Country Club
we had our e-party there and I have to say everything was great! No one minded the dance floor in another room...it actually worked out nice so that my older family members didn't have to scream over the music and the scenery was so nice that I don't think anyone minded the grass situation. They are so nice there and super helpful and the food was great!

i had the same problem!! i loved the feel 'simple elegance' and the staff was soo helpful, and the price... it was hard to say no! i'm having 185+ people at my wedding and i was concerned that we would be too cramped, and i couldn't get past the two room idea.
check out timber point. they are also lessings, and gave me a great price. they are a little further away from the water, but the CH has a real floor and is huge! the dance floor isn't in the center, but its much more open. i also loved that they had a public pub that your guests could enjoy between the ceremony and reception.
i went with the beach club estate because it had everything that i was looking for.... you'll find your place!! good luck!

try looking at timber too.. basically the same type of place (same owners/food/price etc) only thers a large cocktail room and outside space and dance floors in the main room
