Westbury manor
I am in desperate need of a venue asap and am going to check out Westbury Manor next week. ANy brides have any pictures of weddings there, any advice, anything you can tell me you loved, liked or weren't fond of? I'd appreciate anything.

Re: Westbury manor
That was the first place we saw on our venue hunt. It felt too cramped for the amount of guests we were expecting (200+). We did love the banquet manager, Heather, that we dealt with. She was lovely and it was a great first venue experience. But just not our style.

I personally wasn't a fan . I didn't like bc I wanted a buffet the guest would have to go into another room across the hall for the food. cocktail hr was cramped I didn't think half of my 175 guest could sit down. and bc I originally wanted to get married in the hall they don't have a chapel room so we would have to is our ceremony space have them leave for cocktail hr abd then go back in for dinner! hatred that!! I was quoted $65++ for jan feb and March $75++ for a Friday night. I think I went back in July im starting to forget exact numbers!! lol.if u dont mind me asking what's your budget? maybe I can give u an idea of places to check out.... did u see my post about all the all inclusive venues, if your on a beer budget those r great ideas to check out and there are tons!!

Thanks. Well I guess my max would be $95 before fees for 100-110 people. We LOVE Chateau Le Mer and were gonna book and we have family issues that will not allow us the date and can't afford the other dates available. I'm soooo stressed, been crying all day. We have been to Swan Club and Coral House and not fancy enough for us (Unless they gave us the big rooms and we don't have enough people) We called The Riviera and Timber Point (both ask for administratiev fee and I almost told them to go shove it.. that's balls asking for 20% gratuity, tax AND another 20% fee. Absolutely NOT! We went to The Venetian it was very nice but I didn't like the start time of 7:30- we wouldn't be able to enjoy the view which is the whole reason I am spending all this money- for a view. Haven't found an all inclusive that has windows in their rooms with views :/

We went to my fiance's nieces wedding there this past July.As a guest these are the 3 things I liked the least about it: In my opinion was the food from the cocktail hour was better than the meal. FH liked both.
A major thing we didn't like was that while we were at the cocktail hour outside, we could see the bridal party from the other wedding walking back to the manor from their section after having pics taken. It should feel like you are the only ones there even if you aren't, not so much the guests as the couple whose wedding reception it is, still it comes off tacky. There has to be a better way.
The chairs were uncomfortable especially for someone with a bad back.
Having said that: the grounds were beautiful as stated above, the valets were good as was the wait staff and bartender. The bathroom was nice and clean.
The bridal party gets a separate section from the guests at the cocktail hour for pics and stuff and has their own tables with food and snacks during that time.
The other wedding was upstairs and unless you were in the lobby you couldn't hear their party going on.
Don't let me rain on your parade though, if you really like it and it feels like a good fit, then you should do it. Besides, maybe the things I noticed where a fluke that just happened to happen that day. Still you could use this info to ask them questions when you go to check them out.
Good luck whatever you decide and Congrats.

I am getting married there in October and I love it! It's beautiful, the grounds are amazing- they have peacocks roaming the grounds!!! I have never heard a single bad thing about their food. My cousin got married here back in July and my parents and family made sure to all have different food to test it all out themselves. The guests get SEVEN choices of an entrée which is awesome. Definitely affordable as well.Cocktail hour rooms are also definitely big enough - we are planning on having it outside which is huge, but if weather is bad and we have it inside we get 3 separate rooms for cocktail hour.
Everyone has been really nice and easy to work with. We are super excited!

because you aren't planning on having too many guests, westbury manor will probably be a good match for you... i personally am not a fan of large weddings there because it feels cramped, like someone else above said as well. They also do 3 events at once, and I prefer the personal attention you get as the bride at places that do one event at a timei also live somewhat near there, and went to alot of sweet 16s and my grandparents 50th anniversary party was there, so because of that I just never see it as a 'wedding' venue anymore..
with that said, the grounds are beyond beautiful, the food is delicious, and the owners have a good reputation for providing amazing services to their clients!

I was there but didn't like they have no elevator for the elderly guests-they actually took someone out of a wheel chair and had staff members carry them up-I have never seen that done before. Everything else seemed nice.

im sorry I didn't get back to u sooner!! my phone never alerted me anyone replied!! let me see if I can help!
Windows on the lake? they are all inclusive and I think they have widows? places I think have views abd Windows that I could suggest but I don't know the prices bc I didn't lookinto them are;
capitian bills (idk. what the reception room is called though sorry), sunset harbour, the view, west sayville mansion( also all inclusive), the pavilion at sunken meadow. off the top of my head that all I can think of!
as far as the 20% admin fee if u thibk about it they r all charging it some have just included in the price they give . for example I booked an all inclusive package at the sterling for 100 guests everyone over that is $60++ which comes out to b $78..... compare that too the all inclusive package at Mediterranean manor, everyone over thier 100 guest all inclusive package was $75. only plus tax which comes to $81! but they told no we dont do that its so wrong to charge some bogus fee....u added it in already stfu lmao!!
personally I didn't like Westbury manor and if want Windows and views u may think their all wood trimming on the walls is too dark and masculine for u I would think.
how this was helpful!!!

CLM have me some *** backwards story about not having an elevator also! oh yeathey can come in around the back where the wheel chair ramp is but if u get married in the chapel here it's in the basement so they have to walk down these couple of steps, it was only like 5 but um hello they r in s wheel chair can't walk! oh well u can have family carry the wheel chair up and down with her in it!!!'BYE I GTG lol iwasn't doing that!

Wow you guys with wheel chairs issues- that's insane!! Luckily, that is not a concern for me. ALthough I hadn't thought about FH's mom who ahs bad knees. She walks stairs at home and can but of course NOT having a ton of stairs would help. She's too vain (although she would NEVER admit it) to use a cane :/I'm going to see WM and see how we like it. FH is still pretty set on CLM for another date if we can get same deal but who knows so I am trying really hard to be open to other places. ALso trying to not go too far out in LI since we will be living in Staten Island so CLM is the furthest out I would go. If all this fails, I will definitely be taking in all of your suggestions ASAP!!! Hoping to have this all figured out by this weekend!
