So...as you prob know..Erga is the WM's bakery. I had emailed them about wanting do have fondant on my cake and they said that I should come in to do upgrades directly thru them rather that WM....sooooo I am going with Fh tomorrow to see Lily at Erga and design the cake! i will let you guys know the deal in case anyone else wants to do this!![]()

i got quoted way less than that! but I just wanted fondant as the add on...
dont know about the getting your own cake..i would assume not being that its in the price already and they get nothing out of you getting it elsewhere....i just think cakes are SOO overpriced that its ridiculous to get it elsewhere...I looked and places charge anywhere from $4-12 per slice! CRaZY!

I'm on the same boat- i want a 3ft. cake with 6 tiers and Erga said they would charge (around 400$) but really...I am having about 275 guests and when you think about it...400$ for an extra tier and a half???
Cakes by Jay charges about 7$+ per slice and for the size cake I want....it's beyond reasoning to me.
I think they should at least try to accomodate us with something since other places has a 'whatever you want' cake policy. So far they have been great but, the cake thing bothers me too.![]()

I know what you mean, it's crazy to spend more money...I know 6 tiers is huge but my cake is 4 tiers anyway with the amount of people I have.
I could understand 200$ but 400$ seems a little over the top considering I got soooo many extras!
I think they should negotiate with me, so far they have been nothing but accomodating.

good luck please post what happens cuz my mom wants me to upgrade but Im not sure I feel it is worth it especially with all the food we have throughout the night
Please let us know because I really wanted to make changes to the cake but I am afraid it will be to much.

thats not bad actually. Fondant cakes are anywhere from $6-8 a slice or higher and if you have alot of guests will end up costing anywhere from 1k-2k, only if you have a small wedding will it be in the hundreds.
I went elsewhere to get a cake, didnt get it from RH. I got fondant and paid $8 a slice, so to pay just $400 for it is not bad. The only way you would pay $400 elsewhere for a fondant cake is if you get a very simple one at $6 a slice and has to be for 65 ppl or under, otherwise its going to be more.

Cakes by Jay quoted me $600 for fondant cake for 80 ppl. Not the fanciest of cakes but i know his cakes are delish. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to get one or just keep the one WM offers.
