westbury manor cakes?

who is their baker? Can you go directly through the baker? i.e. I would like some input into the cake, not to go cray, but I don't want it to be an afterthought...

TIA!

Erga Bakery.

I'm not a WM bride but they are also the Baker for Fox Hollow....I went directly to them and am paying them the upgrade fee directly.

I was in there Sunday speaking to them about it. I forgot the name of their baker, but they told me I can meet with them and have input, do a tasting, etc. So I'm sure you're fine with that. We wanted the same option. HTH

What is the basic cake? How much are upgrades?

I am paying $400 to upgrade to fondant and sugar flower and the design you see pictured in my avatar, you can see it enlarged on my profile (mine will be round). I tasted a few cakes, they were fantastic. I can't wait!

Re: westbury manor cakes?

I am getting married at WM but have decided to use Cakes By Jay as a cake upgrade. He comes very highly recommended by the WM and many other RHs.

I went to Erga bakery and requested a sample cake be made up for me- actually...I didn't say it was for a wedding...I said it was for an anniversary so that I would see what their non-wedding work is like. I did request it be made with white fondant and gold design to look like a wedding cake.

I have to say, I was not at all impressed with the appearance of the cake. The fondant was uneven and the design was not comparable to other cakes I have seen.

The cake may have not looked so good but IT WAS OUTSTANDINGLY DELICIOUS! I had them make me a red velvet cake (the color was more of a light pink). The cake was so fresh and moist and yummy I can't even describe! My family wants to go back and get more! So Good!

I guess it depends on what you prefer and what your looking for in a cake...I know I wanted something very detailed and in fondant so I outsourced.

Good luck- we have a great venue ladies and I am so confident no matter what you choose it will be amazing!
