Westbury Manor girls and all other girls!!!

I just wanted to post this to make sure my '06 girls are budgeting better than I am. the 18% 'service charge' is NOT a gratuity and will be added onto the bill before taxes. this charge covers valet, bartender, waitstaff

the gratuity is paid day-off (this part I knew) and is extra, for the maitre d' and the bridal attendent.

I knew I had to pay tax (obviously) and I knew I had to pay the 18%, but what I didn't know what that I had to pay tax on that 18%, which comes out to hundreds of dollars more. at least I know now.

I hope all of you have calculated right, or will after reading this.

PLEASE check with your halls to find out what is included in the taxable portion of your bill if you haven't already!

It does make a big difference. I've been overestimating the number of people coming though, so my total will probably be less.

I remember when I realized that the 18% was taxed Seems so counter-intuitive.
