Re: Westbury Manor or Woodbury Country Club
I've been to both and thought they were both beautiful and the service was great. I actually preferred Woodbury Country Club, but I don't have any good reason why lol - it might have just been because I was much closer with the friend who got married there, so I obviously had a better time at the wedding.
Sorry, I'm no help, but both are great choices!

Re: Westbury Manor or Woodbury Country Club
heres the deal on woodbury country club...they are doing renovations starting at the end of 2009. they are not taking reservations for 2010 bc they dont know exactly when the renovations would be finished.
I actually checked out both halls, and while the grounds of WM are gorgeous, we fell in love with WCC. I honestly cannot rave enough about WCC - the food was amazing (and they give you a TON), the grounds are spectacular and the service is impeccable. Our wedding was almost a year ago and guests are STILL raving about WCC.
If you have any specific questions feel free to fm me.

Re: Westbury Manor or Woodbury Country Club
I visited both when I was RH shopping..
I liked Woodbury Country Club more because it was 'lighter' in feel...like neutral decor, etc...
Westbury Manor has darker paneling from what I remember...but I have seen pictures of brides getting married in the gardens and they have really nice photos...
so it's up to you what your tastes are....

I personally like Westbury Manor because WCC doesnt have a big lobby so if you are taking pics and people are walking into the place its a mess

Re: Westbury Manor or Woodbury Country Club
i looked into both, and they had similar prices. i think WM gives you a bit more in the food/service area, but it comes down to what style you like better - more modern style country club or old world charm.
i went to a wedding at WCC last summer and while it does have absolutely beautiful grounds, i thought the food wasn't that great. it was good, but not anywhere near the best i've had. also, depending on the time of year and the room you choose, you may or may not get to use the grounds. the upstairs room (which i liked better)has indoor CH and no access to the pool area, while the downstairs can use the outside, but if it rains they are stuck in the tent! i didn't like that.
i LOVED WM. the gardens are beautiful, and it has the feeling that you are in another world. i haven't been to a wedding there yet, but the people there just gave me such a great impression of the place. everyone was so nice and helpful.
Good luck with whatever you choose!

Woodbury CC is not renovating, they are closing. The building is being knocked down and condos are going up - the owner is also into real estate. That is why they are not booking 2010.

Re: Westbury Manor or Woodbury Country Club
I was married at the Westbury Manor in 2004 and it was AMAZING! They were wonderful and really took care of us from the moment we arrived until the last guest left. Even afterwards they were great (I had less then the minimum amount of people at my wedding and they offered my Husband and I free dinner in their resturant!)
I stil have people talking about how great the place was!
If you have any other questions feel free to FM me!
Good Luck!

they're putting condos in a different part of the property not exactly where the hall is. they're closing to renovate and expand the RH.

Re: Westbury Manor or Woodbury Country Club
we visited both but booked with WCC. i liked the feel of WCC more. i also liked the big open outdoors area a lot more and where our ceremony will take place. WM was too dark for me, i prefer the lighter and brighter WCC room. good luck.

Re: Westbury Manor or Woodbury Country Club
We were thinking of the WCC. We actually met Andrew the manager. He sold us on the place (we was great), then we went to a tasting. There were 2 wedding going on at that time and I have to say I was not all that impressed with the food. Not long after that I heard from the girls here on LIW about them closing. Then I saw a job posting that they needed a new chef. So we just decide to forget about them. Hope this helps.

Re: Westbury Manor or Woodbury Country Club
Does one place ahve something about it that you dont want to give up that the other doesn't have? Do you have a lot of OOt people? I know Woodbury cc is closer to more hotels. Is one throwing in more than the other?

Re: Westbury Manor or Woodbury Country Club
Im biased being a future WM bride I LOVE the old world feeling and the package they gave me was AMAZING...all I know is that by the end my guests will be stuffed with great food in an absolutely beautiful room but sit down and make a list of what each is offering and then go with that

Re: Westbury Manor or Woodbury Country Club
I dont know why someone would say the food is not good i had a tasting last month and it was delicous, lamp chops, shrimp etc it was very very good. It was six of us that went for the tasting and all of us were impressed. We went to other places before we booked with WCC but they by far had the best atmosphere and better grounds. We got the downstairs room with CH outside.
