Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!

I'm not too thrilled about going with the Erga cake.
It seems cheesy...Nothing good comes for free.
and if it doesn't have fondant then it is a $300 cake at the most.
I hope WM gives a cake credit. I like the idea of boxing the slices up too if we're having a vianese hour.
or perhaps i shouldn't get too involved ..this is the ''FH'' talking

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!

OMG!!! MAN ON THE BOARD...

I dont beleive they give a cake credit and they really have nice cakes. Did you look at the book of choices? Did you mean if its not buttercream its $300? Becasue all of the cakes come in buttercream and there is an upgrade if you want fondant. I would call your BM to get the details. If you have a nice BM they might work with you

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!

When we went back to book they took us around again and when we went through the Manor Room they were set up for a wedding that day and the cake looked nice. Whoever the bride was picked the heart cake which I personally don't like but it was neat and decorated nicely with flowers (which is probably how we're going to decorate our cake).

Very true. I guess it can really be done anytime. And FH keeps bugging me about this. I don't know why, but I keep putting this one off.

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!

I emailed my BM & asked if there were pics they could send me so I could see the menus and directions cards..I just want to know if that will be an added expense

The reply was it's wayyyyyyyy to soon to get them..they don't have a soft copy of the menu to send..and I can pick up directions cards in the lobby

Miscommunication is sooo annoying

You should have gotten both with your original package.....the big red folder. They look really nice. It has the WM crest on it. Who are you working with? Tell them you just want to see a sample.

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!

I went to a wedding last summer at the Watermill and their cake ****** and i think it came from Erga because they do those cakes.
It tasted hard like it was stale.
So I want to avoid getting that same quality cake...and excess buttercream is nausiating.
Plus after watching all these cake shows on WE
it'll be fun to get a custom fondant one.
I feel like because it comes with the whole package..how good could it be?
Does Erga do all the pastries too?
I guess we'll make an appt . soon..i work around the corner from the bakery so I'll drop in.

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!

Yes tehy are all buttercream and you have to pay for the upgrades. Not sure how much it is. My BM said she would contact the bakery to find out. I'm dont know if you pay the upgrade fee to the RH or directly to the bakery

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!

i am kinda aggrivated. i called up to rsvp for the showcase and asked my bm about the upgrades. so at the last showcase I added the suckling pig so I asked if I add another thing at this showcase do I get one free and he said no the add-ons need to be at one time to get the free upgrade. All I know is that I am gonna argue that at this showcase... blah!

I would totally argue that!! I had a similiar problem because I had picked the single chocolate fountain and now I want the 3 and because I didn't upgrade it at a showcase they were going to make me pay pull price!! UGH!

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!

Hi girls,

I am new to the site and we are thisclose to booking our day at WM... Can you please give me info on the upcoming showcase. I know it is for couples already booked but what goes on there? I have been to showcases at bridal expos/reception halls/hotels and such but how is this different? I just emailed Felicia (who is awesome by the way) and I thought I would ask for your input while I wait for her to get back to me. Thanks in advance!!!!
