I was going to do the same thing. I already know where the bakery is. I told FH that I wanted to get something from there to see if the bakery is any good.

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!
Linens: I'm getting gold, but of course!Cake: FH and I went to Erga's about 3 weeks ago just to try some pastries. They were really good but of course I can't compare them to wedding cakes. The staff was friendly as well (yes, I grade things like that!). When I ate cake at the wedding I went to at WM, it was only so-so, definitely nothing to call home about, but I will give it the benefit of the doubt because it wasn't a flavor and filling that FH and I like.
I do have to say that IMO, they don't make fondant cakes well. From reading reviews on here, seeing pics on their website, and seeing fondant cake in person at the wedding i went to, there are a ridiculous amount of imperfections with their fondant cakes (dents, cracks, not smooth). If FH and I decide to go with them, we will definitely be getting a butter cream cake because I couldn't bare to look at dented or cracked fondant in my wedding pics forever.
Where are you ladies planning on getting dressed at and are you having limos?

I've also heard about their cakes and this bakery provides for most caterers. This is something that concerns me but when the time comes FH and I will go and give those pastries a try. :)

I heard it wasn't to die for either but that is because it was mocha flavor and they didn't like that. But they said the cake wasn't dry or anything like that, it was just the flavor.
I am getting dressed at my house and we are going to get limos but I think I am just going to get a big party bus and 1 car for me.

I don't want to pay for another cake especially if I get a grooms cake which i will have to pay for.
I am not a big fan of cake anyway so it is not a big deal to me. and i wont be paying for the fondant upgrade.

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!
As of now the plan is to get dressed at my grandmother's house in brooklyn. FH will probably get dressed in queens. We're going to look at limos this monday, and the following tuesday. I'm really excited because at one point I got stressed over my budget and second guessed limos but at this point it's not even up for discussion..we WANT/NEED limos! FH is turning into a bit of a groomzilla over it too. I told him all we needed was a stretch lincoln and he was not trying to hear that.

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!
what is with these men!! FH said, 'A WHAT?? A lincoln?? I don't wanna ride in no stinkin' lincoln!'So I'm like, ok babe, we'll have it your way with your money!
Here's a little secret: I'm kind of glad he didn't want the lincoln because secretly I want a rolls royce or bentley and a chrysler 300. I'm sure he is going to want a big boy toy though.

Re: Westbury Manor THREAD!!!!
Im getting dresses at my house in queens and FH at his house in Brooklyn. I am debating between a party bus for the BP and def a rolls for us. I dont know there is just something classic/elegant about driving away in that car. Also are your FH's going with you for the cake tasting or did you plan on doing it yourself

My FH said same thing. I was like 'I don't think we really need limos.' He immediately says, 'Oh NO! We are definitely getting limos.' :)
