Hi! I am new to this board but have been browsing ever since I got engaged 2.5 months ago. I am stressed as can be as I don't yet have a photographer, band or florist. I have a venue and dress though (a gorgeous Kenneth Pool which is to die for).
As far as photographer I have only looked at one person so far: Peter Oberc.
For bands I want an Irish band but all the good ones appear to be booked - this is what causes me most stress lately. I am 100% Irish but my fiance is Haitian. All my bridesmaids are Italian American. So I have a lot of different types of people to appease.
For flowers I looked at Diana Gould, House of Flowers and Daniel but all were at least $10,000 for what I want and that's without going over the top.
So are there any other Westchester brides out there with some advice for me? I am really STRESSED.

Welcome date twin! Don't stress, you have time. Planning your wedding should be fun. Sorry I'm not a Weschester bride but here are some hugs.

Thanks guys, I feel a little better already. I just have so much stress as I am trying to finish my doctorate while planning this wedding and am not a motivated person AT ALL so am a tad manic about this whole thing.
And thanks for the comps on my dress. It's so much more beautiful in person too! Once I go for a fitting I will take some photos for y'all to see.

I did, well I contacted Eileen Fogarty and the Very Best which apparently are a spin-off of GCF and they were booked! GCF itself was also booked!! So sad!!

Just a word of advice... don't try so hard to appease everyone... this is YOUR wedding! Have whatever music you and your FH want. Don't worry about making everybody else happy... it will make you crazy! Even more than you already feel. And not to worry... I didn't book my florist until 3 weeks ago and my wedding is less than 4 months away!

Re: Westchester bride-to-be - stressed as can be!
Good morning!! W'chester bride here!!!
I also saw those 2 florists at a showcase my RH had, their stuff was beautiful but I also got a quote around $10K... way more than I wanted to spend. My profile has all of my vendors, I went with a Manhattan florist who did an amazing job!!
My band was GCF, sorry they're booked on your date!!! But I know Gerry Finlay and the Cara Band are excellent!!
Also check out www.celticcross.com, I know them from the Catskills, where my parents have a country house, they've been playing bars and weddings for about 15 years, and they are awesome!!
Hope that helps, feel free to FM if there's anything I can help you with!!

There are lots of great photographers on here that will travel to Westchester so check them out. My colleague is getting married in Westchester and is using Duet.

Thanks guys. Does anyone have Gerry Finlay's number? I spoke to Celtic Cross today and they may be available but they weren't sure, are getting back to me. I am just wondering are they hardcore Irish or will they also play pop? I want a mix of Irish and American music to get the place dancing.
