Wet Cell Phone Question

I dropped my cell phone into a puddle in the middle of the street today. I took out the battery and left it out to dry all morning. I just tried to use it. All of my calls sound muffled, the ringer doesnt work anymore, it starts dialing numbers without my even touching it, and it starts opening up text messages by itself. also, it keeps typing the numbers '666-666-666-666' which is kinda freaky if you ask me.....maybe it's possessed?

Any suggestions i can try to get it to work again? someone suggested that i blow dry the phone - anything else?

i really don''t want to have to buy a new phone - i have a lot of major bills this month and don't want to add to them unless i have to

I got my phone wet a few times and just use a blow dryer on it. It definitely works.

agreed... take the battery out again and don't touch it for another two days..

just happened to fh and it took a really long time to dry...but it worked again. also maybe try putting a blow dryer on it...not the hottest setting or anything, just to move the process along...good luck

my mother actually told me the other day about an article she read about wetting your cellphone and what to do about it. your supposed to take out the battery and let it dry for like 3 days without using it.

how a person can manage without their phone for 3 days is crazy to me lol

it happened to my mom. took a long time to dry but eventually worked again.

yup i agree. on my HM, my DH accidentlaly kept my cell phone in his pocket and we were climbing these waterfalls---and it was completely submerged at times!! it tooke about 4 days to dry out and then it was good to go again.

yea, i would let it dry out for a couple of days..before you go to bed tonight take it all apart again and let it dry out that way

if u have insurance call them up and tell them you have the water damage and they will send you a new one. i did that when i dropped it in a toilet.

Thanks everyone! I finally got home from work and blow dried it. IT WORKS AGAIN!! I'm so happy - I was lost without my phone for these past few hours.
