W.H.A.L.E car seat program from Fire Depts.

I got a 'what's happening' newletter from my fire department yesterday and part of it was to inform parents of a car seat program. It is a series of stickers that you put in certain place inside your car and on your car seat and God Forbid there is an accident and you are unable to speak it has information about your child, such as birthdate, health or medication problems, stuff like that. I had never heard of it before and thought you gals might be interested.
And it is free from some fire departments. You can just call your local station house and ask them about it.
P.S. our firehouse also has a free smoke detector program, and others might also. we already have a bunch of them in the house but for those who need new ones or addt'l ones you should ask about it.

You should call your local station house and inquire about it. The brochure says it is used in 32 states. BUT if you cannot get the stickers, make your own and place them ON the car seat and put a copy in your wallet.
The info is Date of Birth, Name, Medical Info, Guardian's name (for two people), home and work #, Emergencyu contact numbers other than Guardian info. I am going to put the baby's blood type on the Medial Info chart also. There is also a small area for a photo of your child.
I never thought about this before but when you think about it a child cannot speak for themselves and if you cannot speak (or the driver of the car) this could save their life, especially if they have any allergies or medical conditions.
