What a mess!!!!!

Hey Ladies,

So i was very excited this weekend. I finally found my dress. My problem is that I found it in NH. So i called the manufacturer and they named some stores on the island who sell them Its Emme Bridals. And i called those stores and they said they dont carry them anymore. The only place i found was the wedding center of commack, and i dont know how great they are. Has anyone had a dress bought there?? I really loved this dress and i want it!! any suggestions? Thanks for your help

Could you try buying it online? somene reputable. I think RK Bridal may sell online. if you know the model and everything, i have heard that it is not that bad to buy online. you just have to have a really seamstress that you trust. Good Luck!!

A few girls here used Karin Yngvesdotter in Astoria and had good results. I plan to use her as a seamstress as well for my wedding.

You may think this is a little nuts, but call Kleinfeld. If they don't have it, odds are they, if anyone, can get it for you. This is if you really don't want to try ordering online.

Kleinfields will have a huge mark-up. Have you considered going to NH for your gown? It might be a bit cheaper-less sales tax- and you can have it altered down here. You would only have to make 2 trips up there.

Or try Bridal Suite of Centereach. They can also get a lot of dresses that they do not normally carry.

Kleinfelds markups are sometimes high, sometimes not. It's still worth it to try. My gown was more expensive at 3 other smaller stores than at Kleinfelds.

I think I ordered an Emme. I say that cause, the store gave me the info over the phone when I was pushing to try to get a picture. (and up until now, I thought it was M bridal.) LOL, thanks!
I was told they do not advertise and I have not been able to find the dress. Anyway, I got my dress through the bridal suite in patchogue. Im not recommending that store (there's been some negative comments on here about them) but that is where I ordered my dress.

Let me know if you have any luck. Im curious to see if I can locate a picture of the style I ordered.

I thought it was pronounced Emmeee, lol!! then some lady from one of the stores said 'm', heehee, oopsI found out that a place in Copaige might be able to order it, called Lydias Bridal. They are closed today so maybe tommorow. I cant find a picture of mine either. Did you try theknot.com for the picture?

My other option was to get it in New Hampshire, but i was afraid i wouldnt be able to find a seamstress that wouldnt charge me hundreds for alterations. and i didnt want to go to bridal suite of patchaugue..

I ordered my dress from Commack Wedding Center - I was weary at first because I didn't like the atmosphere of the place but once I found the dress I wanted I called around and they had the best price for the dress. I am not getting my alterations done there. I am going to take them to a private seamstress. I don't think you have anything to worry about if you order through them - when it comes in you just pick the dress up and take it somewhere else for alteration.

I can tell you that I went to Lydias and loved her. They are very nice there. I was sad that I didn't find my dress there. Let me know if she can get it for you. I am sure she will try!

I didn't try hard because I wasnt sure of the designer, until you posted it!!! I didn't trust the bridal suite's information and thought maybe it was a knockoff of some kind. There were no tags on the dress from the designer. I just picked what I loved.
